Uh Oh...no nap?

My dd will be 18 months old when we go on our trip to DL in March. Right now, she is on a schedule of waking up around 7, napping at 12 to 2, and then bed at 730 or so. Deviation from this schedule is not so pretty. We will head out from our house around 4:30 a.m. I expect my dd to sleep on the 2 hour car ride to Dallas. When we get to the airport, I plan on letting her run around as much as possible before getting on the train. Hopefully she will sleep on the 2+ hour flight to Orange County. We arrive at SNA at 9:26 local time, which is 11:26 Texas time. I'm guessing that if she didn't sleep on the plane, she will sleep on the cab ride to the hotel, but it is only twenty minutes or so. My big, huge problem is that this child is GO GO GO. She barely will stay in her stroller when she is in a good mood, and when she is tired and fussy she screams and will not nap in her stroller. Well, we arrive in Cali at 11:26 our time, but it is only 9:26 local time! We have to wait until 3 to get our room! Is there any way I can pay more for an early check in at the Paradise Pier hotel so that she can at the hotel when we arrive? I just fear a long, stressful day if she goes without a nap. I have been "working" her daily with stroller rides around the block and such. So far she can go around one time without too much fuss. We will try to work up to two later. Maybe I can try the walks around naptime to see if she will sleep in the stroller. Any advice appreciated!

She may just be ready to drop one of her naps.

My DD2 LOVED her naps, even to the point where I had to wake her up so she would be able to get to sleep at night. When she was about 15 months, she stopped taking her morning snooze. She has kept this pattern since. She gets up about 7, and takes a nap at 1ish.

Since I didn't have a schedule for my DD, I can't help you with that. When we went to WDW earlier this month, she went to sleep a bit earlier than normal since there was so much going on.

What type of stroller do you have? She might not be comfortable in it, and that may be why she gets fussy. I had a cheapy umbrella stroller once and my DD would flip out even before I would put her in it. In her other stroller, she was fine.

Not to be a downer, but I wouldn't expect that she will sleep in the car ride at 4:30 AM. After 9 hours of sleep with an on-the-go little girl I would think she might be ready to go - even at that early hour! Of course, that might help you out later when you want her to take a nap! We are in a similar situation with DS. He will be 21 months when we go and I'm not sure how he'll be with his naps!

Good luck!

We flew to MCO in November - our flight was a 7 am, so we had to leave the house at 4:30. I was convinced that DS would sleep the whole car ride - I was wrong. We woke up up at 4 and he didn't nap until 3 pm that same day! It was just all the adrenaline, excitement of the day. He was a complete and total BEAR by 3 pm, but nothing that I did would put him to sleep.
