Uh Oh...he's figured out how to move!

DS, at almost 4 1/2 mos, has learned to not only roll over from back to front but to scooch across the floor on his back! Yesterday, I laid him on a thick blanket on the floor with his activity gym over him to keep him occupied for a few moments while I unloaded the dishwasher. I walked back around the bar and he had scooched OFF the blanket and halfway across the room! I thought it was a fluke and didn't think too much about it till this morning when he did it AGAIN while I went to the bathroom.

I was afraid of this... Now we'll never get him to stop moving. Heehee....

I'm gonna have to buy him a helmet or something to keep him from getting rugburns on his head until he learns to crawl. I KNEW this was coming. In utereo, once I felt him start to move he almost never seemed to STOP moving. Ever.

My DS was the same way. He muscled through on his belly pulling himself with his arms! Life will never be the same! Congrats/ I am soo sorry! LOL all the way!!

Sadly, no. We don't own a video camera. Although...I am really really hoping DH takes my hint and gets me a Sony Handycam for Christmas. The one that records to DVD. *crosses fingers*

Heck..having a kid got me the Kodak EasyShare digicam point n shoot last Christmas. Now maybe that DS has learned to boogie across the room will convince DH to buy me that video cam I want.

I put him down for a nap a little while ago and he even moves in his sleep! I put him on his side and he's managed to wiggle onto his back into his favorite 'Supeman" sleeping position.

My daughter started doing that, first turning in circles while on her back, then pushing with her feet, and now at 5 1/2 months she's moved onto creeping backwards on her tummy. So far this has been the worst since she sees something she wants, tries to move towards it, but ends up moving frther away from it, which of course comes with frustration and crying. So good luck, cause your son seems desparately trying to be mobile like my daughter, and it'll make for many challenging days for you!

Hi there. My little DD will be 4 months in a few days. She has been rolling to her tummy for a few weeks now, with a couple nights of being up all night because she rolls and gets stuck! Now she just loves to sleep on her tummy. I know what you mean about 'scooting' though...she arches her back up and tries to move back, while laughing everytime we try to change her diaper! Lately shes sleeping on her tummy with her butt up in the air and tries to scoot forward too (although can't). Its so cute, isn't it!

Our daughter (29 yrs old now) started walking at 9 months. She is our youngest so we definitly knew we were in trouble with a two yr old and a 9 month walking already. At least we were lucky some babies start walking at 7 months.

Get a video camera as soon as you can, even if it's second hand, (to tide you over until hubby gets your new one). My youngest is now 11 and we have tapes on all our kids as they grew up. It's priceless stuff. Every day you delay, you miss something new.

Yep, you are going to be busy now. I kind of like that DD (4 mos) is still immobile. She does slam her legs/feet down so hard that she will wind up in a different location. She somehow got herself almost completely underneath her crib last week by doing this. Maybe she is not as immobile has I thought!!

Oh, that's so sweet. That brings back memories of my DSs' firsts. It is really amazing when they start to do things that make them more like a little person than a little poopy slug! Just kidding of course. When my DS6 was that age, I left him on my bedroom floor so I could go let my dogs out. When I came back in about 5 minutes later, he had rolled under the bed, and for a brief panicky moment, I didn't know what happened to him. Where was he??!! He loves it when I tell him that story now. That was just the beginning......


And wait until one day you look over at him in his crib and he is just sitting there! Not a really big thing to most people, but he will just look so odd and funny in that position that you have never seen him in before. You are in for many of these wonderful little surprises, TOV..

And you thought 2 a.m. feedings were going to drive you crazy!!!!!!

I'll never forget the first time (with our oldest DS) that I realized that..... HEY, THIS KID HAS A MIND OF HIS OWN. And now, almost 6 years later, he's going to be on a roller hockey team. Guess I did something correct.

SO true!! I remember w/ both DS's walking into their rooms & seeing them sitiing up in the crib the 1st time. It freaks you out at first! LOL

And, then, when they go to a big boy bed & walk into your room in the middle of the night. You wake up to this little face staring back at you. I nearly had a heart attck the 1st time my older DS did it.
