Stupid A/C is leaking water again! I wanna cry because I don't want to spend the money it's going to cost me to fix the unit. We just had it cleaned about a year ago (it was leaking water then too and really messed up my garage ceiling). And to top it off my dh is working out of state and won't be home until the end of November. Why do these kind of things happen to me when he's not home. I mean come'on:confused:!

Thanks for letting me vent!

Probably just a clogged drain line. Look to see if the pvc drain is still attached and draining properly. You can turn ac off and just run on fan only if it's not too hot. (We own an HVAC Biz!)

Nope not clogged as far as I can tell. I put the shop vac hose inside the pipe to suck out whatever was in there. Then poured 1 part bleach with 16 parts of water down the drain (per my dh instructions). Pulled off the cover to the unit no standing water in the tray either. The opening to the drain pipe from the tray was clean and clear too. When I remove the filter from under the unit water is heavily dripping form the two front corners of the unit. The wood is all wet now. I have buckets under the unit to catch the stupid water.

I'm waiting on a call back to see if I can get someone out here today but we just might have to turn off the unit and open the windows. It won't be fun because it's freaking hot today and we have no breeze blowing.

Did the body of the air conditioner tilt slightly so water overflows the lip of the chassis somewhere else before getting over to the drain hole?

Is some water left behind all the time? And perhaps rusted out the chassis where it collects?

Update! I have a friend, who has a friend that does Ac work. He came out today and looked at my ac. This is not the first time my ac has leaked on us. So I guess it's been leaking a very slow leak for some time and gone unnoticed. The platform which the unit sits on is rotting out on the opposite side in the front away front the drain.

Now he is going to have to come in remove the whole unit, rip out the platform and rebuild it, reinstall the unit. Total cost 400.00! ouch. He was really surprise how poorly built my ac closet is. I had to chuckle at him because this house has been nothing but trouble.

So here I sit with no ac and it averages 100 degrees or higher. And to top it off they can't fix it until Saturday and I have family coming from out of town on Friday!
