Well after talking with our guide and finding out that they had some BCV points I could buy through Disney I decided to buy there. We had discussed that they are $104 per point and with the CM discount it would be $88.40 per point. Well today I just got a call from my guide telling me that he had not realized that they could not do the CM discount on sold out resorts only on resorts currently being sold. So now I am back to square one!

That is a big bummer!

I'm sorry that your guide gave you incorrect information and got your hopes up! But I'm also not surprised Disney isn't willing to sell BCV for $88.40/pt. If they acquired the points via ROFR, they probably paid $83-$85/pt to buy back that contract. Selling the points for $88.40/pt doesn't give them much profit and maybe even a loss when you consider the costs involved in ROFR and reselling the contract.

Go over the to TSS and buy what you need from them. I purchased two Disney resales from them and it was a breeze. Good Luck!

Would have to agree with this ... it likely makes the most sense ... even with closing costs, it should cost you less than the $88.40, no?

Bummer, this is exactly why we bought SSR when my hubby was a CM. The price could not be beat. Hopefully you'll be happy buying into one of the new resorts with your CM discount. When we bought into SSR in 2005 we saved $6,000 w/the CM discount.

This must be a recent change. Our DD is a CM, and we originally bought at SSR in 2006 with her CM discount. Later, 2007, we added on at OKW (sold out, of course), but still received the discount. That was well over a year ago, however, and we know the CM discount was just changed this past summer. Could be that the guide wasn't fully up on all the changes, and so initially gave you old information.

FYI: our DD tells us that, for the Cast Holiday Celebration, the CM discount will go from 15% to 20% for November and December. So you might want to wait until then to buy. Don't be surprised if your guide doesn't know about this -- our guide didn't! It was just announced in the past few days.
