Ugh! What's going on with the ADR system?

Is anyone else having serious issues with the ADR system?

Today opened up my 60 day window for ADRs and when I got up at 6:00 a.m I went straight to book my ADRs and I have had no luck!!!

On the app I get to the point to book and it keeps saying there was a technical issue and to try again. I had a 7:00 ADR for Sci-Fi and it wouldn't book so I refreshed and had a 7:45 option and it wouldn't book, then refreshed and had an 8:45 and it wouldn't book, and then there was no availability.

I went to the website from my phone and logged into MDE using Chrome and it wouldn't even click on a restaurant to make a reservation without giving me an error.

I went to my Samsung browser on my phone and logged in and went to look at dates and my ADR dates were grayed out on the calendar, even though I was logged in. I signed out and signed back in and I was able to see my dates on the calendar but still got an error message when I tried to book.

I gave up and a few hours later logged into my computer and have tried to use both Chrome and Edge and either get an error trying to click on the restaurant, or when I try to confirm the reservation, or my dates gray out again.

I really don't want to have to call and wait 2 hrs to make my ADRs...

This is crazy right? I can't imagine there's anything else I can try besides trying different devices and browsers until one works?
 
Another day, another thread about ADR problems. Not slamming you at all, it's just an ongoing problem day after day it seems like. If you missed it, here is the thread from yesterday; Horrible Experience Booking ADR's this morning (09/13)

No offense taken! Before I posted my thread I thought I could not be the only person on here with this issue! I looked through a couple pages of new posts and searched 'ADRs' but didn't see any recent complaints (saw some from the summer) so I posted mine to vent to the world!

Thanks for sharing that thread...I'll go read it now to see if anyone had any helpful info.

Sorry for one more ADR vent in the world! I guess misery loves company :)
 
No need to apologize it's almost just becoming a bad ongoing joke, I feel for you. I'm disgusted that this has been going on this long with apparently no resolution and yet they are going to try to launch Disney Genie with in a couple of weeks... that just seems insane.

I had exactly the same experience yesterday- also trying for Sci-fi. Also had Samsung, Firefox, and Chrome. deleted cookies, signed in and out, tried app and mobile site and watched those times disappear with each error. I finally got it to go through with Firefox on PC and using the search for reservations at the top of the page, scrolling down and selecting the time at the restaurant. If I selected restaurant first- another error.
Going to try for Steakhouse 71 tomorrow. Wish me luck.
 
It took me all day, from 6:30 am to 4:00 pm to get 6 ADRs done. So frustrating. The calendar would not show my whole trip (6 days) then it would, then it wouldn't. I felt like I was playing hide and seek with the website. Thankfully I am done and got all that I wanted except Garden Grill. And that is not a must. I just can't imagine how Genie is going to work.

Yeah; not looking forward to this for the Steakhouse 71 reservations tomorrow morning. CRT was horrible.

I've been having the same problems. Its taken a long time and a lot of frustration to get 6 reservations for our upcoming trip in November. It seems like when one goes through its just a fluke, and lots of times it would show availability but when I tried to book it would tell me to try again later. By the time it let me back in that restaurant and time was no longer available.
I've never had this many problems booking before, can't imagine what will happen when they launch Genie +.
 
I had issues as well. Couldn't search till 6:02. Very slow going through the confirmation steps and kept getting hung up when trying use the credit card I had saved; only worked when manually entering card each time. Able to get everything we were looking for; need to work on a few times. We have a split stay and will doing this again Sunday morning and with harder to book adrs (topolinos/crt/bog/hbd/tiffins)
 
Lots of folks having issues booking today. Keep checking especially near your dates as many end up canceling within their 24hr window.
 
I had issues on the desktop version this morning but the app on my phone worked fine. Got Oga’s twice and CRT. Those were all I was looking for though so it was pretty quick. We tend to do more counter service meals.

Insane is a good descriptor of the situation...I've never had ADR issues like this before, the app never seems very intuitive to me and is hard to navigate, and even the website has been wonky lately. It's like everything is going backwards! So yes, rolling out a whole new and even more complicated app (with lots of promises built in) is insane! But maybe something will click for the magical 50th celebration 🤷🏻‍♀️

So frustrating!!! Good luck with SH71! I'm hoping to book my birthday dinner there in November! Maybe because we had such a tough time the last couple of days we'll get some pixie dust tomorrow!


It's across the board, even trying to book park reservations were kicking back errors and empty pages for me today.

Really? Good grief...I haven't had a problem with park reservations yet but just goes to show how it's all glitchy!

Yeah mine would randomly gray out dates as well! Ugh! But congrats you finally got most of yours booked! I got 1 ADR booked, but it's not as bad as it sounds because I have some hard to get ADRs on my wishlist and if I can't get them I'll check out some lounge menus. But I am frustrated I never could find any more availability for sci-fi but I am pretty confident I'll get something before November (hopefully I didn't jinx it)! And I'm hoping for some luck with SH71 tomorrow (and of course S220 when it opens)!

Agree...if the ADR system, app, and website all have so many issues, it does not give me hope in Genie +. But maybe it's all part of Mickey's plan to have expectations low so even if it's just o.k we're impressed - LOL!

Maybe I’m lucky. I had no trouble booking dining on my iphone with safari.

Nice! I don't have an iphone so could even argue maybe it was an issue with the android but also chrome and edge on my computer?

Far more worried about Monday when Space opens for ADRs.

Glad you got everything you were looking for so far!!! Good luck with your second half of your trip! I've got some hard-to-get ADRs on my list as well: CMs, S220, SH71 (assuming it will be hard to get), Ohana's, and CA Grill if it reopens for my trip!

Will do!!! I've never planned a trip yet and not gotten my first choice ADRs, but I've also never had the continuous issues I had today!

I think in previous years, with 180 day ADRS, you had so many less people to compete with. At 180 days you had DVC and a few cash guests. At 60 days people's vacations are confirmed....so lots more people taxing the system. And Disney is a lot of things....but an IT company they are not. They absolutely are terrible at it. I 've made a bunch of dinner ressies over the last month and everyime i have to put my card number in...and every time it asks if i want to save that card number. Whats the f'n point....they don't remember it anyways?!?! It's bush league while they charge world series prices.
 
Lots and lots of issues trying to book on desktop. Mobile has been better but there is really just nothing for the restaurants I’d like to book. Honestly don’t understand. Personally I think they’re holding back reservations because yesterday several openings for our week popped up for Oga’s and Be Our Guest to name a few. At this point, I’m questioning why I bother getting up at the crack of dawn if this is how it’s going to go down (can you tell I’m annoyed :rotfl2:)
 
We struggled the day our 60+ opened up but zero issues this morning with SH71. Agree with suggestion upthread of using mobile device - seems to be much smoother vs browser.

I am hit and miss on mobile and desktop! But I agree SH71 was much easier this morning than my ADR fiasco yesterday! I didn't even try to book SH71 until 8 or 9 and was able to find several ADRs!

I hope S220 is as easy 😆
