So next to the #1 nightmare of buying a bathing suit JEANS shopping is a runner up.

It is God-awful for anyone w/o a perfect figure.

Last week I made the mistake of buying the one brand that I knew I could trust ( No, I did not try them on). Got home and put them on and GASP!!! High- waisted, a good one inch over my belly-button. And I had gotten such a great sales price too:mad:. I am not a Low-rise woman, I just want comfort and just at or slightly below the belly button is where there have to be- for me.

Well, I went out today and gave in, took 3 different styles into the dressing room and thankfully liked one enough to buy.

Good luck to everyone else!

It's weird but cheaper brands tend to fit me better, except for Not Your Daughter's jeans.
Cato, believe it or not, has jeans that fit very well.

I hate shopping for jeans. You will wear a 6 in one size, an 8 in another, maybe a 4 in another, and then another brand might be too big in one size and too small in the size smaller. Then, you have to find the right fit, as well. Some seem to fit my waist but are too tight on my hips and thighs. Others will fit my hips and thighs but be too loose on my waist. Some brands are too long, but if I buy the shorter cut, they are too short. Basically, I stick to buying Levi's from JC Penny as they are one brand that I know exactly my size and style.

I buy most of my jeans from Rue 21, and I'm 42. lol I like the fit, the cuts and the prices, I tend to buy on clearance or on sale so I don't pay more than $10-15 per pair, usually more like $5-10 per pair. And I certainly do not have a perfect body. lol

What is it with jeans they all to big for me in front in a certain spot an look like I need to stuff jeans with a sock or something to fill them in?

I think I must have an odd shaped booty because most of my jeans are a bit saggy below the cheeks.

I have always hated shopping for jeans. I have been a plus size woman until recently. I have lost 40 lbs so far, but I still don't have a rockin' bod. I'm 42 and had c-sections with 2 large babies. I'm saggy and squishy. I am still working on improving, but I want clothes that loon good while I do. Last week, I was in Buckle with my teenage daughter when the sales person asked if I wear their jeans. I laughed and commented that I'm old and fat. He replied that they have jeans for every age and body type. I told him if he found a pair of jeans that looked good on me, I'd buy them. I told him no bling butt. I don't want to look like I'm trying to be 16. He brought me an amazing pair of BKE jeans in the Dakota fit. They are mid rise and curvy fit. They look awesome and I love them! Definitely worth the $80!!

Ok, so I'm stealing "bling butt". I'd been trying to think of the proper term for the bedazzled pockets.

Thanks for the tip.
I know there's a BUCKLE in my area mall.
I don't want bling butt either.

My only problem with jeans and pants in general is the length. Holy heck, even the short length is some brands would require a 4-6 heal. I'm about 5'3" which is the high end of petite and it's still ridiculous.

I don't know if you are interested in jeans from Buckle, but they will hem any jeans you buy from them for free. We always have to get my daughter's jeans hemmed.

It's a pain! I still wear my maternity jeans because they're comfortable and frankly I know my prepregnancy jeans won't fit and I'm not ready to cross that bridge yet. Feel for ya, OP!

Same for my wife (she'll be 42 next month :)). She gets low rise jeans, but they aren't super low. Button just low enough to miss her belly button ring. My 13 year old daughter also shops there, so it's a one-stop place for us. :goodvibes

I'm short torsoed, so low rise jeans fit me perfectly. Just under my belly button.

I'm going to have to check out the Buckle!

Another fan of the Buckle!

I like BKE and thebDaytrip brand they carry.

I'm 42 and I love the jeans at Buckle. I have some by BKE, Big Star, and Miss Me. And I like the sparkle, lol.

Well now I will have to check Buckle! My jeans fit great when I first put them on. Then the waist and butt get saggier and saggier as the day goes on. They look even more awesome scrunched up by my belt so they don't fall down.....I hate tugging my pants up otherwise.

I found a pair that I finally like at Old Navy. My best friend told me about a style she likes and so I decided to try them. It is the "Rockstar" style. They sit just below the belly button and the slim cut fit in just the right places. While my best friend likes the skinny legs, I like boot cut and they did boot cut in this style. They also have capri's and plus size too.

Since I have put on weight, I can't handle anything above my belly button that might dig in to my stomach. Finding jeans is difficult because of that.

I think I might have to check out the Buckle ones too.

Jean shopping really is the worst. Although, for me it's just pants in general. Even when I was really fit, I had a struggle with jeans; I'm short, and then I had a tiny waist but curvy thighs. So the length would never fit right, and it would take forever to find a pair that fit in the waist and thighs.

Now that I am significantly overweight, it is even more difficult. A big problem now is that they are always saggy in the crotch area :(

I used to love American Eagle jeans and thought they were really flattering, but I only wore one cut, the Original Bootcut and now they have discontinued it :headache: I used to like Gap jeans, but haven't had much luck since the weight gain.
