UGH! More presents to buy!

Only you know your friends, but I gave a friend and her family gifts because they had generously gifted us and she was highly offended. Maybe send a nice thank you note and remember everyone for their birthday or for next Christmas.

A gift is just that, "a gift!" It's done and anything you do at this point definitely would be an after thought. Not necessary. Accept it graciously and move on.

I wouldn't do it. Christmas is over, the gift was given, and getting one for them now looks like an afterthought. I agree with PP who suggest letting them know early next Christmas season that it is not expected for them to give gifts, or to have one on hand "just in case."

I have to agree. No gift, but a thank you note and a batch of home made goodies would be nice.

I completely agree with others who have mentioned a nice thank you note with a plate or basket of homemade goodies...cookies, muffins...something like that. While I don't think the baked goods are necessary, they would certainly be appropriate. I would not go out and buy and wrap a gift at this point.
