Ugh!!! Men!

I am resistant to change as well!! But its so crazy that he doens't want to go if he loves WDW. It took me like 4 years to convince my hubby!!! But we are doing the 3 night cruise. If he's worried about the things to do, on the 3 night, you're at ports all of the days anyways... good luck!!!

What about trying something really radical and respect his opinion? If you continue to nag him, he'll most likely either (a) start to protest more loudly or (b) agree to go, and have a bad time just to prove that he was right.

wow. Lots of replies! LOL!
Thanks everyone. I was looking at only a 4 day as we are very limited on the time we can be away from home. (we're dairy farmers) So no chance of doing the world along with it. DD actually cried this morning. She started talking about going on the Disney boat, and I told her that dad would rather just go to the parks. but after I told her she is now tall enough for some bigger rides and she can do BBB she seemed fine. But the nshe cried again alter about it, and I reminded her again about how big she is now, so I think she's happy. Thats my fault for showing her all the DCL pictures.
MY DH is very stubborn, so I don't know if I'll change his mind, especially since we usually vacation the first week of March, which means the ship is filling up and the prices are higher, as no lower cat.s are available anymore. Also I can;t go alone. I don't work, so he's the payer and he really likes vacation to be family time. I even try to branch off and do stuff on my own while they sleep in and he feels like I'm leaving them in the dust. LOL! (but honestly they are just to slow for me at times. LOL)
So maybe if we keep working on him we can go in a few years. But I highly doubt he will give in at this point. And yes, I do know he will love it. But we will be happy going to the world instead too. He did tell me to price it if I had a chance. So of course I did, and if we book by tomorrow we can still get in on the deal and do 6 nights for the price of 4 and get a $200 gift card. 6 nights is sushing it for us, but he also wanted to fly out of the local airport into Sanford, and the flights are Sunday and Sat, so I got that going for us. LOL!
If he does change his mind I'll update ya!

Well I'm not the only dairy farmer on here.I know how hard it is to swing these things. We milk around 300 but still try to do the "disney " thing a couple of times a year.Tell your husband to do the cruise and drink all the milk he can so it will get rid of the surplus(since its all included in the cost):rotfl2: :rotfl2: And I promise he will not see a cow the whole trip.We have done 3 cruises and are doing a 3-day in April just to get that feeling again.

Well I hope it works out for you.

I used to be just like your DH. I still am, a little. I love the parks. The insanity, the lines, the heat, the crowds, they're all worth it to be standing in those parks, watching the magic happen. So I totally understand where he's coming from, I do.

But I will never regret cruising with DCL. I love it, my wife loves it, our friends love it.

I don't feel cramped or boxed in the ship. Yes, it's encased in plastic, but the thing is ginormous, and there's enough open deck space that it's just like being at the parks. You're in the sun all day, and then you go back to your hotel room at night.

I never feel bored on the ship. There is stuff to do pretty much 18-20 hours a day. Sports and beer? There's a sports bar. Gadget/car guy? There's usually a talk with some of the engineers. I geeked out at that, becuase it was me and a bunch of retired Navy guys in black socks asking about torque and displacement. Dinner and a show? Yeah, we've got those, too.

Or, like many on here, would he just be happy watching the wonder and joy in your daughter's eyes as she experiences the awesomeness that is a Disney Cruise? Because it will happen. Whether it's getting a picture with Mickey, splashing in the pool, or dancing at the Pirates party, there'll be something there that will make her light up.

I am pretty much done with the asking about it. If he brings it up, then I'll continue on the cruise. We never fought about it. Our talk was just our opinions. I have pretty much excepted it won't be this year, and have gone looking at the WDW prices.

I think we milk 150 or so give or take. It's him and his 2 brothers and they have to extra guys, but they aren't the greatest and looking to get rid of them. We've had hard times with help over the last 6 months or so. He has a hard time getting away as his brother who owns the business with him has panic attacks everytime we go anywhere. I swear he is a big baby! LOL! When he and his wife goes away my DH has no problems at all. My DH also tractor pulls, so we do go away for a day or two here and there in the summer. But it's not the same as going to Disney. LOL!

Well DH and I have talked about doing a DCL cruise since last summer. Well mostly I talked and he listened. (and he didn't even do that part very well) So I brought it up again last night. I am turnign 40 in Feb and wanted to go in early March. And he still won't book it. Last night he told me he would rather go to WDW instead. He knows DD4 loves it (we have gone the last 2 years) and he just feels to limited on a ship. I tried to explain all the benefits of the ship and the pluses, but he just kept shaking his head like he wasn't convinced. I know he would love it and so would DD. He has a problem with change though and likes to do the same things over and over, so once he does try something and likes it we then do it alot. LOL! I have read books and done so much research for the cruise, and I am so sad he won't give it a chance. I was so excited for it too.
So at this point it looks like we are going to WDW. Now I'm happy with that as well, but wish we could try DCL and give it a chance. Maybe after a few years of bugging him and as DD gets older, she can work on him too. LOL!
So thats my rant for today. :flower3: :cheer2:

DH was like that before our cruise this last Dec. He was really mad because DD and I out voted him on which cruise we would take. He really wanted to go on a cruise with a casino. Now he never wants to go on another cruiseline again. He didn't even miss the casino.

I know your husband is extremely resistant but I recommend pushing for at least a 4 day. To me there is a significant difference between the cruise experience on a 3 day and a longer cruise. The 3 day is just too rushed there is just too much to see and do on the ship. It seems, on a 3 day, like you hardly get a chance to unpack before you have to pack up again to get your luggage out on the last night. On the longer cruises you get to relax and truly experience the benefits of cruising.

I thought this too. With a 3 day, you don't get any sea days which are really the best part of cruising. That's when DCL outshines all other cruise lines.

My dh is used to me planning everything and he admits he really doesn't care what we do, as long as we can afford it. I started booking things without even discussing it with him since long before we were married. :guilty: Like, Hey Honey, I found this awesome deal to Aruba so I booked it. lol! (Then again, his work schedule is very flexible.)
I surprised him last year with a cruise for his 50th w/o kids and told him 1 week before. 3 other couples met us on the ship to surprise him even further. It was so perfect but I know he'd never do all this for me. He's just not a planner.

Good luck!

wow....

not sure if I would want to venture into the realm of telling my missus 'No'

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well spoken. I, too, am a WDW Veteran (and I do mean veteran). Many, many, many trips to WDW. We went on our 1st DCL June 2008 (my fourth cruise total). I LOVE the cruise, Castaway Cay, etc... Next cruise (see below)... was by choice. Asked DW what she wanted to do for our 10 year...... Las Vegas, WDW, DCL....... Hands down DCL!!:thumbsup2

Ok, that was my endorsement to YOUR endorsement!! ;)

P.S. I will be in your fine city next week (Columbus). :wave2:

been to wdw more times than I can count, also on 3 disney cruises, since our last 7day a couple weeks ago my kids actually prefer it to the parks, like was said earlier, wdw is a good trip a disney cruise is a great vacation!!

My Dad was the same, we worked on him for 2 years(we left him at home for the first 1 cruise, me,hubby,dn and dm) he said no way, I will be bored, cant go anywhere bla,bla bla, then he went on the 7 night with us EVENTUALLY reluctantly to get us of his back.

Well guess what??????
He is bokked to go on a 14 day transatlantic !!!!
And NO ! we did not have to ask him twice !!:lmao:

Wow, I'm sorry. Pack a sweater or six. It's gonna be in the teens/twenties all week.

LOL... the weather here this past week has gotten me ready...

I will fly in there Wed and fly out Fri.... (business meeting)...:cool1:

What about doing the land/sea combo? MAybe this will be a little offering gto make everyone happy? Kike someone else posted, try a 3 or 4 day cruise or go w/ you daughter and a friend and have a great time!!! I'm all for the cruise for your b-day, Happy Birthday too! It's your special birthday, enjoy it!

Wow, I have the opposite problem. After our "engagement" cruise on RCL, my now DH said he didn't want to cruise again if it meant CCL or RCL. I had been on my first DCL with my neice in 2004 on a land/sea vacation. I talked about it so much that my DH suggested that we do that for our honeymoon.

Well, he really enjoyed the cruise. He enjoyed it so much that we went again for our first anniversary in September for a 4-day cruise and booked our first 7-day cruise while onboard.

My problem now is that he didn't really care for WDW. We live in Southern California and both of us have been to DL many times. He prefers that to WDW. So, now if I want to go to WDW, I have to find others to go with me because he won't go.

I will be going again on a land/sea trip with my neice, my best friend and her goddaughter in August. Planning a DL trip this Spring with DH.

All good ideas, but a land sea option would be too much money in his eyes.
We did book today to go to WDW in March though, so I am happy about that. I love WDW, just was hoping to try the cruise this time around. Maybe in a few years I can get him straightened out. LOL!
