Do you have a Upromise account? Do you know if you go to their site you can get 4% back to your upromise account when you click thru the Disney Cruise Line link? Ugh we've been on 2 cruises, do you know how much money I could've gotten back? I never even thought to check Upromise. Don't make the same mistake if you have a Upromise. Go thru the link!!

Can u explain more of this? I don't know what uppromise is either. Do you do this once when u are first booking? What if u use a travel agent?

Upromise is used for college savings.

Appears they are the TA and give 2 - 6% back to your Upromise account for cruises which is linked to a 529 or other account.

I never knew they did travel. We have had our CCs registered though for years. Been a looong time since I visited the site though.

Thanks for sharing. So we will only be spending 96% of the kids tuition on DCL now. :rotfl2:

Ahhh!! Why did post this?!? Lol... Kicking myself now. We have also done 2 DCL cruises and never thought to check Upromise. Will definitely remember for number 3. Thanks!

How would this work with booking a dummy date on board?

It won't work for the dummy date booked on board, but when you do book the real date and if you go to the DCL site to pay for your cruise then you could go thru the Upromise link to get the money back in your account for college. I've always booked our cruises myself and paid online. I could've racked up a good chunk of change to help pay for some books.

It won't work for the dummy date booked on board, ....

Have you asked about this. I would have guessed you could just name them as your TA while making an OBB. They seem to be playing the TA role. :confused3

TIA

No, I guess you're right. I was just thinking the concept of the site is to visit retailes thru the links on it's site. I wonder if this whole travel concept is new? I've already got a dummy date booked so again it's a lost cause for me. But maybe others can keep it in mind to check when booking.

I followed the link and checked it out a little, but I think we will stick with using our regular TA for booking Disney travel. I didn't see anything about an OBC, which we usually get when we book with the TA. Also, for trips to WDW, our TA does a very good job of tracking and applying any discounts that are released.

If you pay for your trip with your Upromise card, you should still get the standard percentage anyway for purchases credited to your 529 account. I know that's not as much as what is offered through Upromise travel, but it is still something.
