I don't think the original poster can earn there ears if they fly to Hawaii over a large body of water called the ocean. Then drives to the resort and can't find the pool, food or ocean so settles for staying in there room eating donuts and soda. C'mon, I can send a blind overweight chimp with one leg out of a hotel room and at some point will find the ocean.

I want to travel with the original poster to disney world. I'm guessing we would stay at bay lake tower and not be able to find magic kingdom. So we stay in the room all day eating donuts and soda.

I don't think the original poster was serious at all. So I'm not taking it serious hence my sarcasm.

Aulani is not very big at all. We were there for a day and after a 20 minute walk around found everything. Even the inner tubes and entrances to the lazy river. Then there's room service. Easy to get food if you are tired and don't want to leave your room. I found the front desk helpful. The store on the first floor had a ton of refrigerated and non-refrigerated snacks. Much healthier stuff besides candy. There was fruit, yogurt, nuts, etc. So when you first arrive just start walking out of the lobby towards the ocean. You'll find everything. We didn't use the map so I don't know how helpful it is. Just wanted to post this in case someone reads it wondering if it's a nightmare to navigate. It's not at all. Hope you have a nice vacation OP.

Actually, I think the PP was referring to you earning your ears. Your comments to the OP... at least from my perspective... can be taken as mean and overly sarcastic, those kind of posts tend to be frowned upon by the DIS, especially sarcasm. IMHO... making fun of someone's discomfort is acting like a bully.

If I have interpreted the intention of your posts incorrectly, then I sincerely apologize.

OP I hope after some rest and a fresh perspective that you got to enjoy your Aulani stay.

You interpreted it right. I'm not a bully but I am being sarcastic though. If someone posts that they can't find the beach when they are on an island and instead of looking, posts a complaint about how they don't like the resort. Then goes on to say they will stay in the room and eat donuts and soda cause they can't find food.

Your response to it will be two different ways. 1st being feeling bad for the person, which you are doing 2nd is to laugh at the person who is in paradise complaining. I'm the 2nd response.

Ill change my tone and try to help you out. The ocean and pool are all big bodies of water. Don't be fooled by glasses of water or sinks filled with water. The ocean is going to be very large with waves. There is a great chance it will be attached to sand. The pool will look like a big puddle of water. There might be people jumping in and coming out. If you see 1 person walking behind a curtain and coming out wet, that's a shower. Your prob not in your room so run before they call security. Hope this helps.

Wow! How incredibly rude can you possibly be to a complete stranger who had a frustrating first day of vacation?!?!?

DIS is a place to help others. If you are not helping at all and are just being mean and rude in your comments, why even comment?

May I never need assistance on a thread you happen to see.

A little empathy, maybe?????

OP was overly dramatic and was called out on it when she continued to blame poor maps etc. and simply not acknowledge she over reacted because she was likely tired etc. (we've all been there).
