Mostly, I am a patient person but they are driving my nutso. Anyways, I booked our flight from CA to FL last June. I got great rates $206 roundtrip. Well, since, then in the last month or so they have changed our flights 5 times. I swear it is so ridiciously. The last one just made me mad. We were on a flight from SACTO to ORLANDO with a stop in DALLAS. Anyways, they had us changed planes in DALLAS and wait 4 hours for the next flight to ORLANDO. Doesn't sound too bad does it until you find out the SACTO TO DALLAS plane is flying to ORLANDO. I can't believe they would have us get off the plane when the plane is continuing on to ORLANDO. I am ready to scream. Is this what I get for taking advantage of the cheap fares. We don't leave for another 50 days and I am worried they'll change our flight time again. Going home our original flight left at 1:20 pm now they bumped us up to 12:35 pm. I'm okay with it. I think, we can make but if they bump us again we wouldn't make it. All the flights after 12:35 pm are booked. Anyone have experience with American Airlines on this. I don't think I'll ever fly them again. I have had to changed a lot of schedules.

Thanks for letting me vent!

Have you called and asked to be kept on the flight that continues to MCO? Give them a chance to fix it before you decide not to ever fly them.

Many have reported that the airlines will change to the original flight.

II suppose it is too late to cancel with AA. If you can I would see what flights are available on Southwest.

Thank YOu! Yes, I did call and they put me back on the flight that continues on to Orlando. So, I am okay going there but I might be cutting it close to going home. I asked and all the flights are booked after 12:30 pm including the one we originally booked on. I might call again today to see if we could be on some sort of waiting list for a later flight.

Even though they were helpful I doubt I'll fly with them. I can understand time change on a flight one time but 5 times. No. As a result, my dd in the 1st grade has to miss another day of school. It is a huge deal to miss school at our school with overcrowding especially when there are 100 kids on the waiting list to get in.

Thanks for listening to me cry....

I though that there was a regulation that if a carrier changed your flight by more than, I think, 4 hours and it didn't work for you, they were obligated to make it right...ie put you on another carrier or whatever. I'm no expert but I know there are folks on here who know more about airline regulations. Under "rules of carriage" or something. Try the fine print on your ticket...it might have a link.

If the airlines make major changes you can request a refund. (That is thier idea of making it right!) The problem is that since airfares have been increasing you might not be able to find the same good rates at a later date. They do not have to put you on another airline for schedule changes.

Thanks for the clarification, Carol. Do you know how many hours have to be involved in the change in order to qualify?

AA changed my 1:30 return flight to 12:45. I called them and asked for a later flight instead and got one for 3:30. No hassle at all.

I did call to change it but all the flights after 12:30 pm are BOOKED. There are no 4 seats available at all. So, I'll just have to hope I find available seats.

Thanks!

for airlines to change their schedules at it's gets closer to departure date. That's why it's good to keep rechecking your flights. As an ex travel agent, if the airline changes the schedule,I don't remember any minimum time change, you can change it or get a refund.
We had a mantra in the office. If you don't like the answer the airline gives you, hang up and try again.

I don't know when your travel date is, but keep trying if you want a later flight. I would even talk to a supervisor if the res agent can't help.

Hope this helps.

See you there
