It sounds like they didn't have anything available to begin with. I know that BCV has a tendency to book up most months way before the 7 month window. Since it is one of the smallest DVC resort, we added on there just for that 11 month window. You might have some luck with the waitlist. Good Luck!
They had four left firt thing this mornign. Today was the last day for me to call for our week. I have been booking a 2bed and a studio, day by day for the week.
I called first thing, both were available, she booked the 2bed first, then went to get the studio and someone had taken the last one. She said there were four when she first entered my info, and then they were gone.
I booked a BWV studio for the last night and waitlisted that night for the BCV. It did, earlier today, seem like they had a bunch of preferred view BWV studios - so give it a shot.
I was really glad to get my whole week at BCV in both units, minus that one night in the studio. I'll put all the boys in that room and let them move all their stuff if the waitlist doesn't come through.
Is this for the marathon weekend? Wow, DDiL wants to run in '10 and I was thinking to book something at 7 months, I guess we do need to make the 11 month committment.

I hate to hear that you missed it. Sat I had a great MS rep. He grabbed what I needed, I kid you not I was on and off in two minutes. Sun when I called it took 5-6 minutes, I thought she was never going to get the room and I told her at the very beginning. She said, "now let me see if that's available," this was way into the call. I was thinking... you have not already checked? I was booking Concierge. I hope your waitlist comes through.
I'll call tomorrow to book another day and have to remember to call on the Wed for my last day. I don't have enough points to stay in a 1 bed the whole weekend and it's just 3 of us so I would hate to have to do that. I booked the 1 bed for the 1st night and hopefully I can get studio's for the next couple or we'll be traveling from AKV for the half marathon for DH.

Sounds like your CM might have been fairly new; they have 4 screens at their disposal, so they can "grab" what you need on two different screens, and then begin filling in the info they need. Their computer system gives them 2 or 3 minutes to hold onto a room before it automatically lets it go back into the system so someone else can reserve it. Of course, that doesn't work if the CM looked at it just before other CMs grabbed the rooms.

can't comment on either since DH has never ran a marathon or half in his life. But the Half starts in the parking lot of Epcot (according to the course map) So I wanted to be closer. It also ends in Epcot and I will be there for that.
The full and half marathon start at something like 6AM. If you take Disney transportation to the start, they get you there *very* early. I can't remember the exact time, but they start running at something painful (yes, there is a 4:30 in the morning).
For the full, the starting point is on Epcot Center Drive, over by OKW and Port Orleans. It's great being able to just walk to the start whenever you feel like it.
With the half starting in the parking lot, it's a farther walk to the start from OKW - probably a bit over a mile. For some runners, the walk would be a good warm up. (Note - Disney discourages, but doesn't stop folks from walking to the start of the full. I don't know what they do for the half. If interested, there are folks on the WISHes board that have run the half and can fill you in.)
Staying at the EPCOT resorts doesn't really get you any closer to the start. You are still stuck on the Disney buses. It is good for the spectators wanting to get to EPCOT for the finish - just be sure you can get in the park at the International Gateway early enough that day.
Interesting b/c I called this morning and got a BCV studio for 1/9-1/12. We are waitlisted for the 8th--but are booked at AKV if that doesn't come through.
Marathon weekend is 1/9-1/11 (Half Marathon on 1/10 and Full Marathon on 1/11)
DH and I ran the full last year and it was so nice to walk back through epcot to our resort (BWV) after finishing (fyi, you will need a park ticket as the finish is in the parking lot). It was great to grab a drink, keep walking, and cheer on other runners while heading back. I would much rather be close to the finish than the start. The Epcot resorts are also great if you are cheering someone on for the full b/c they run right along the lagoon by BC/YC.
