It has been a while for me. I just realized, to my disappointment, they no longer have a normal lunch, but a "fixed" lunch at an astronomical cost.

I am guessing there is no way to get the chocolate/grey stuff cupcake without dining there? In the past, with normal lunch, you could order it to-go, if you waited in the order line.

I doubt anything on that menu is worth the price charged, but maybe I am wrong? (hopefully) I searched for some photos and none of it looks like it is worth $140 plus tax and tip for 2.

We went around 3-4 times when it was a la carte. Set menus are not for us, firstly we don't wish to eat that many courses, and secondly the choice is severely limited. It's a shame as I used to love sitting in the West Wing and meeting the beast afterwards. I live in hope it reverts back (and Liberty Tree Tavern) 🙏

I am at about the same number of visits. 1 Breakfast, 3 dinners. I enjoyed it each time, but am very happy I got in before they made so many changes and the place now being this prix fix trend. They use to have a better selection of Disney Family Wines, more food options and was only a 1 credit meal. Also one of 2 restaurants where I had the same server over a year apart and they remembered me. So that was very nice. Now all I can do is wistfully look at the bridge over to the castle and long for the good old days.

The last couple of times we’ve been in MK we stopped at Gaston’s for one of those delicious cinnamon rolls and it’s been closed! It closes fairly early, I think. 🫤 I also miss going to Be Our Guest.
Yes I don't think they are open in evenings anymore, that has been our experience as well. Website today says 9-7.

It’s not. As much as I adored the theming I cannot stomach the price they now charge for the food they now serve.

I think their ADR situation tells you how the vast majority feel about it. This used to be a pretty hard ADR to get- now I see wide open spaces for every day the next 2 months unless you want a party of 2 on Valentines Day lol. (I hadn’t looked for a while but WOWZA, they straight up killed the demand for that place.)

While value is relative, I did enjoy the steak during the one time I dined there with the prix fixe menu. If you like Beauty and the Beast and try to get the most value out of your food, it can be worth it.

We used to go every trip even after the Prix fixe came, but haven't gone the last two times because DH's favorites are all gone.
I always got the steak

It's more that it's so massively inconsistent, like you can go and it'll be amazing and then it's like the worst food ever.

I think it's a 2 credit restaurant so the demand at those places is weird right now with the dining plan coming back.

The food was much better when it first went prix fixe pre-covid, honestly. Still overpriced for what you got but it was at least good. I would have said it was actually worth the money, because at that time you could still go and have the little audience with the Beast afterwards, and they allowed you to wait to be seated in the room of your choice (we ate in the West Wing). The gluten-free rolls they gave me were fresh and hot. Last time I went was May of 2021 and my filet was chewy and overcooked, and the rest of it was nothing to write home about. I haven't been back since and we deliberately avoided it on our big May trip last year. People love to rag on CRT for being wedding reception food but tbh it was actually superior to BOG on that 2021 trip and we loved it last year. It's also way more consistent.

We did breakfast and lunch years back when it was a la carte, plus at breakfast orders came with a little tray of breakfast pasteries. Oh the good old days.

I don't generally like fixed menus because I don't eat much. The exception would be Liberty Tree only because it's my husband's favorite.
We used to really appreciate the lunch. In the first few years of being opened, the "ham and cheese melt" was so good and the brisket with mashed potatoes was pretty good.

I think we will stick with Topolino's and Narcoossee's for table dining for our next trip. :/

I've only done CRT for breakfast, we did CRT and BOG in one trip in 2022, I remember my food at CRT, I don't remember BOG at all.

Oh that's disappointing. Mine was summer 2019, and while the Beast meet n greet wasn't a huge thing for me, it sucks that it's gone.

Yeah, it's a real bummer now. I know it was never technically "character dining" but it was fun getting to meet him. Now he sort of does a drive by thing in the main hall but it's very fast and very impersonal. I figured it was a covid restriction because that was back when all the characters were still distanced, but even when CRT was just Cinderella waving from a distance it didn't feel so rushed and apathetic. iirc they never went back to the old meet and greet the way other character experiences reverted to normal. Just doesn't feel special anymore.

I remember when the line to get in went halfway down the bridge!
