Ugh- at WDW now and ticket issue

We ordered 4 day non hopper tickets ( date specific) for the trip we are on right now. We had two old 10 day non-expiring Park hoppers with water parks and more option with 2 days of Park hoppers left for my husband and 1 day PH left for me. We intended to use the new date specific tickets for this trip NOT the old non-expiring tickets. After being in the parks yesterday & today, I happened to look and they used up our non-expiring Park hoppers not the current date specific tickets we purchased for this trip! We did not park hop and did not mean for those old tickets to be used. Will guest relations be able to fix this error?
 
Happened to me. Ticket center at Disney Springs was fast and helpful. I did need to tell them I wanted my non-expiry PH returned. I think he was going to out a regular one day ticket back on my account.

The computer program is supposed to notice day-specific tickets, but apparently fails to do so.
 
My old non expiring days finally are gone.

In the future it is easier if you seek out a cast member with a vest prior to tapping in. They can force the ticket you want to use to be the active ticket. In my experience you only have to do that the first tap of the trip.
 

I was also disappointed to find that the Disney software wasn't smart enough to look at the tickets and use the ones that were active for the dates we were there, rather than tickets without dates we were saving. It was a bit of a headache, but they fixed it. Had to go to Guest Services twice though. After they "fix" it, keep checking to make sure you can see the tickets they replaced in your account. On our first visit, they prioritized the tickets so that it would use the correct ticket, but didn't give us back the ticket they had used that we were saving.
 
Thanks for all the advice. I went to Guest Services and the cast member said it happens frequently, although their system is set up to recognize the dated tickets on the correct date - sometimes it doesn't. She told me that they could not just add back the days from the non-expiring park hopper tickets because their system requires an expiration date and she could only assign it an expiration date for like a year or so away. So, what she did was make three 1 day, park hopper comp tickets that are in my account but are not visible on MDE. She also did not actually give me the hard ticket because she said I didn't need it. She gave me a card with a transaction number on it and said that whenever we are ready to use the days, we just contact them and the tickets will then appear on our account. She repeatedly told me not to worry about not being able to "see" the tickets in MDE. I sure hope she was right. She did say that although they were replacing one day ticket on my account and two on my husbands, the actual comp tickets that would be tied to my account could be used by either of us.
