UGH, another 'should-i-toss-it' question

Now, I'd keep them. I'm fairly sure people in the olden days stored eggs in the ground unrefrigerated. And people in other countries keep them on the counter. I'd just be sure to cook them like fry them up. But that's just me... :confused3

People in the olden days and other countries do not refrigerate their eggs because the way they are farmed is differently.

The way American eggs are washed in the factory requires refrigeration to prevent bacterial growth.

If you have chickens in your backyard, you'd do fine to keep them in a semi-cool spot on the shelf. But store bought eggs are not the same.

Personally, I'd toss them. 20 hours in the garage is a long time.

^^Yes, like I've said, farmed eggs that are unwashed have a bloom on them (a protective barrier). Those are okay to sit out. Store eggs are not because the USDA requires eggs to be washed, therefore washing off that layer and opening it up to bacteria. I would eat farm eggs that sat out, I would not touch store eggs after 20 hours.

$10 worth of eggs or $xx of bills related to getting sick. I would definitely toss them.

I get what England does, but these eggs went from cold to hot, not a good combo.

Nope, don't toss them.

I'm just back from England where they don't refrigerate eggs.

And anyone who lives on a farm with chickens knows that you miss an egg or two when you collect eggs, so that "fresh" egg may have been laid days ago and been sitting in a hot hen house for days.

I am glad this thread is out. But you don't by any chance know any ranch's around to buy farm fresh eggs do you? There used to be a ton, not they are so limited. Thanks if you know.
