Ugh, am I EVER going to get Harry Potter??? First Borders, now Amazon!!!

ACK!!!! I just want to SCREAM!!! I read another post where some of you received e-mails from Amazon saying your order has been shipped, so I went to check my Amazon account. Up until yesterday, it showed an estimated delivery date of June 21. Now is says June 24!!!! @*!!**

First I got screwed over by Borders who only sent me a card this week (even though I ordered May 7) saying I can't get it on the release date. So, reading the DIS I found out Amazon was guaranteeing same day shipping. I even checked to see if my zip code qualified, and it did, and my account was showing June 21 as the delivery date. Today, I tried the zip code thing again, and it says I DON'T qualify! I am so upset! I sent a nasty e-mail saying I would never have ordered it in the first place if I knew I couldn't get it on the 21st!!!

My last resort is Barnes and Noble. I called the other day and they said they couldn't guarantee it, but it is likely I'd be able to get a copy today.

If you have a Costco membership, they will be selling the book tomorrow morning for something like $16. Diana

That must be frustrating.

I see you're in Hawaii and that is probably complicating things. If you have any of the 24 hour discount stores there -- Kmart, Target, etc.... they will probably put their stock on the shelves at midnight. It is worth a call to check.

Thanks guys, I'm a little calmer now! I called Barnes and Nobles again to find out what their distribution system is. They're giving out numbers starting from 7 p.m., so in essence, whoever gets there first is more likely to get a book. She did say that if I ordered in the earlier part of the week (I'm pretty sure it was Tuesday), there shouldn't be a problem.

If I don't get it there, I'll try your other suggestions. Our K-Mart isn't 24 hours, but we have 2 WalMarts that are. I can also make it to Costco in the morning too.

LuvTigger, you sound really frustrated and disappointed. Three days isn't really that long though. Sorry you couldn't get the book as soon as you hoped.

Thanks all for listening to a HP-addict rant! (nativetxn, just like on the WISH board, you always find a way to make things positive! )

One of the reasons I'm so frustrated is not so much about getting it tomorrow, but that they SAID I would get it that day, then at the last minute saying it won't be available. If they had just come out and said to begin with (or at least earlier than a day or two before) that they can't give it to me on the release, I would have an easier time accepting it. (All though if BF saw me writing this, he'd just say I was a whiner .)

Anyhow, things are looking better. Barnes and Noble called to remind that I reserved a book and that I need to pick it up by Sunday, which sounds like a good sign that I'll be able to get it from them. As a backup plan (thanks Toby's Friend for suggesting it), I called Wal Mart. They'll also have the book available tonight. And Amazon responded immediately to my e-mail. Supposedly it's already been shipped out by 1-day mail at the standard shipping price, so we'll see.
