We are trying real hard to go Oct 31-Nov 3rd. So far the room or even a package is very affordable, but the airfare is killing us. With five people, it gets sooo pricey!!

Anyone have any secrets for cheap air? We missed the Southwest 49 dollar deal. Ugh.

We always drive, so I can't help you with airfare. Have you ever tried Priceline? I haven't ever bid on flights, but have done hotels, and had good experiences.

I would still keep trying Southwest, do you have the Ding program, you may find that you get cheap tickets throughout the day. We always fly Southwest even though our home airport doesn't have it, we drive to Kansas City so you might check area airports too. Our drive is about 3 hours and its worth money saved.

When we went in 5/07, I was getting very stressed playing chicken with Southwest. I finally got $69 each way out of PVD for exactly the flights I wanted, but not until 7-8 weeks before the trip. Check each morning, especially Tues am. Have you checked out Jet Blue?
Don't forget that direct flights to Orlando pretty much live on die on how busy WDW is. Your timing should be good.

Thanks. I have never had luck with Jetblue. We fly out of PVD as well. I just registered with the DING! program and I will also continue to check back. With the budget we have for this sort of last minute quickie trip, we need the flights to be 200 or less (after taxes) per person. Right now the cheapest I can find is 1144 with southwest for all of us and Dh says it is too high. This trip all depends on the airfare. I told him if we went the last week of Sept I found plane tix for 844 total and 277 for the room!! He wants to be there for Halloween though.

We're lucky because we have 3 southwest airports near us in hartford (annoying), PVD (southern MA) or Manchester (northern MA). Consider at least checking both PVD and Manchester. Manchester does terrific things to get you up there, I know they had a free shuttle last I checked from the Boston area somewhere. Might be able to research on their website.

With those 2 (or 3 if Hartford isn't too much of a hassle), you shouldn't have a problem getting a DING for Orlando between now and then.

Just keep checking. Check late at night and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Why, I am not sure, but it works. Out of Wichita the lowest fare each way was $120 and I waited and waited. I finally found a sale that I could get there for $89, but it was $120 coming back so I just booked going there. Then three days later the 5 pm coming back time went down to $89 for four hours only and I got the lower price. It just takes patience. My friend is going on the same flights as me and she was not as patient and she paid the $120 each way. Keep checking. The flights will work out for you!

Good Luck! :wizard:

Even if DING is not working out for you, continue to check the SW website. I got ours for $44 when the DING was $49. Also go onto airline websites and sign up for their emails. You may get a good deal or get early notification about an upcoming sale.

Keep on checking several times a day. I'm going through almost the same thing right now, our problem is that flights keep going up 100 or 200 euros overnight then a few days later go back down to the original price. So we have to check constantly and as soon as one is available at that price we grab it. We need 5 different flights though so it's gonna take a while!!!

I was "lucky" to get the 4 of on Southwest (oct 13-21) for $1000!!! A flight that I was watching on American went as high as $3800!!!! This is from Chicago. Couldn't find a flight under $225 round trip. Ugh! I remember paying $600 for the 4 of us to fly down...just a few years ago. Good luck! I hope you do better than I did!

Thanks. The deal dh gave me is that if we can find airfare for under 1000 we will go, if not, then we don't go. I just came back last week and we went last November so it won't kill us NOT to go, I just really want to. lol

As of 2 days ago DH was very adamant that we were NOT going under ANY circumstance, we need to save money, bla bla. But then I showed him home video of our trip from 4 years ago and he got all fired up to go. He simply cannot resist the sight of my kids' faces on that screen in WDW.

I did find cheap tix for the time we want to go, 840 for all FIVE of us round trip! The thing of it is, it flies into Tampa. So now I have a few options. I can wait and see if the flights to Orlando go down, or I can try to figure out a way to get us from Tampa to WDW cheaply. See, if we didn't do these last min trips all the time and instead did one BIG one every other year or so I wouldn't be in these kinds of predicaments. lol

What price are you looking for?

Lowest i could find was $188 per person round trip.

10/31 - 10:20am departure, PVD to MCO, 1 stop Continental

11/3 - 7:00am departure, MCO to PVD, 1 stop US Air

Is that low enough? Cheaptickets says it has the $188 price for those two flights combined.

$188 x 5 = $940

Go, grab!

Other option is $218 per eprson on Continental only (and with the onepass mileage program, you'll earn a tone of miles toward a free flight)

Unfortunately Southwest just finished a great offer out of Manchester (I assume Providence too). I just missed out on it but it was $125 per person round trip including tax and fees!!! Now its almost double! I plan on waiting it out hoping to get that price again. Its actually still the best rate going. We're going in late Octocer. And by the way...Manchester airport is AWESOME. Its so much better than Logan!

Thanks, it is cheap, but not worth it. I won't fly out any earlier than 10-11am, it just doesn't end up worth it since we are only there 4 days, 2 of which are spent traveling to and from home so that leaves 2 days in the parks. Having a 7am flight means the ME will pick us up at like 4am. With 3 small children and we are not morning people. lol

Thanks anyway!! I really do appreciate it!

We used sidestep.com (searches for best discount airfare on most airlines)last year because we couldn't get a good price on a return flight with Southwest. It cost just about the same as Southwest but was not a non-stop flight.

I booked a couple of weeks ago for $274.00 round trip for the both of us,but we are flying out of Manchester. Don't know if that is an option for you.Wish you luckpixiedust:
