Hi all. My husband, 2 year old son and I will be in WDW at the end of October. I thought I had made a reservation for the Tuskerhouse character lunch for 3, but it is showing up as a reservation for 2. When I looked to see if I could make it a reservation for 3, the system is showing that there is no longer any availability for lunch. Should I keep the reservation for 2 and just see if they will let the three of us in, or should I not even bother and cancel? Thanks.

Hold on to ressie for 2. Keep checking back periodically to see if you can grab a 3. Check daily the last two weeks before the date of the lunch. I find ~10a Eastern time to be best for openings showing up in system.
If nothing comes up, just show up and hope for the best. With a 2 y.o., they might have an easier time squeezing you in.

A lot of times, I have found ressies to open up the days prior to the actual day, so I think you should have some good luck with Tusker House, which isn't super crazy demand.

Pixie dust for you!!

I agree. Keep it and keep trying for one for 3 people. I know when we were at Tusker House last we had a reservation for 5, but the day of my Mom got sick and couldn't go, so we only had 4, and they didn't have a problem with it. I know this is adding a person and not taking one away, but with a 2 year old, they might not give you much trouble either? Good luck!

I would keep checking online every day to see if a reservation for 3 comes up. Since TH is a character meal restaurant people will cancel when their plans change to avoid the $10 per person no show/no cancel fee.

If you can't find a res for 3, try adding a person and look for a res for 4. The Disney res system has a quirk that makes it harder for odd numbered parties to find a res because the system wants to fill every seat at a table. Thus, a party of 3 which would usually be seated at a 4 top is passed over. Try for a party of 4 and something might open up. When you get to the restaurant just tell the CMs at the podium that you are a party of 3. As long as at least one person shows up for the res, you won't be charged the no show fee for the "missing" person.

Also, it's much easier to show up with fewer people than try to add extra people at the restaurant. While it's unlikely one person in your group will be turned away if you show up with a res for 2, it's always a possibility because of fire and safety code rules regarding room capacity.

Wow, I had no idea! Thanks for the tip. And thanks everyone for the advice - I will do exactly as you all have recommended.

It may also be worth phoning. I was able to add one person to my Hoop de doo booking when the on line system said no availability. Equally though, I haven't had the same success with 2 other reservations - but it may be worth a try.

Good luck!
