Last night, we were outside and within 5 minutes I had three large and itchy mosquito bites. They don't bother my DH, DD or DS just me.

I have used Cutter, Off and Skin So Soft and it doesn't stop.

I know there is something in my blood that attracts them, but why do I have to be so delicious! :rotfl:

Anyone have any other solutions? Preferably one that is not filled with chemicals?

Garlic pills from the health food store.... As long as you don't mind smelling like garlic, the mosquitos hate it!!!!

Try taking a vitamin B supplement (I take one with all of them, so I'm not sure if it's the B-6 or the B-12). The vitamin B makes your blood taste bad to them and they won't go after you. Also it makes the welt less severe.

I don't know if it's an old wives tale but it definitely works for me.

The same thing happens to me. I walked from the house to the garbage cans and got 5 bites. As soon as it gets warm out my DH takes out the garbage now because I get attacked. I found this stuff helps more than the others you mentioned.

Hope it can help you and BTW I found this in my local supermarket and didnt have to order it online.

I'm not sure how to keep them away....my oldest son is a mosquito magnet...but I do know how to stop the itching! Dip a cotton ball in some apple cider vinegar and rub on the bites. Do this as often as you need to. I gave my son a little plastic cup of vinegar and some cotton balls....he said it worked almost instantly! You smell like a salad, but what the heck?!

That was me! Then I had DD and now they like her and leave me alone.

I see you already have 2 kids...so my suggestion...err...maybe have another kid? Or I could send DDD over and you could just have her stand in your general vicinity. ;)

Having lived in MN most of my life, the non-chemical bug repellents just don't work, maybe if you live in a area where bugs are not bad but not here where 5 minutes outside would result in a lot more than 3 bites. The best bug spray EVER is the 3M Ultrathon. It works on every bug imaginable, including gnats. It is heavily laced with chemicals though :lmao:. It was developed for the Army. I also like the Cutter Advanced (blue bottle, orange cap). It has Picardin and not DEET. It doesn't work as well as DEET repellents so you have to apply more liberally and more often but there is NO SCENT, NONE!!

Thanks everyone for your replies.

I am going to try some of the products you mentioned. I do take extra B vitamins already, so it doesn't seem to be helping. Not sure I am crazy about smelling like garlic though!

My kids love to go outside in the evening and around here it's the only time that it is not scorching hot, so I have to be outside (my youngest is only 3).

Maybe I will get a large brimmed hat and attach a malaria net over it so I am completely covered. :lmao:

A large net is what I'm trying next too! Have the same problem, nothing seems to work and I must look like a giant mosquito dessert because they are all over me. Actually had one biting me thru my shirt last night.

Good luck and let us know how the alternate remedies work!
