Oh it was so gross....I set these mouse traps tonight because I heard a little rustling sound last night. I bought these plastic things at home depot that looked like giant clothes pins, they were SUPPOSED to kil the mouse....well I set the trap tonight, and I went to my room and sat down...not 30 seconds later I hear SNAP....my mom was in the bathroom so I hoped it was her dropping something but then I heard a dragging sound....the trap caught the mouse by the tail and it was dragging it around my kitchen....now my mom locks herself in the bathrooom, luckily my daughter was sound asleep...I locked myself in my room and all we hear is this thing moving around dragging the trap and neither of us will go out there. It was 10pm, I looked out my window and my neighbors light was on..I called him and he came over with a big shovel...he goes in the kitchen and we hear whack whack...blechhhhhhhh so now the thing is dead, he has him in a bag and he asks, do you have paper towels, I need to wipe up the blood....oh geez!! I am a total animal lover but I hate mice but I still could not stand to even hear him whacking the poor thing....

If I where there I would stand on a chair for you

Oh you poor thing!! Yuck. I hope the neighbor got it all cleaned up for you. I'll have to remember to not buy "clothes pin-looking mouse traps" in the future! I think we have a non-Mickey mouse in our house too. Anyone have a recommendation for a type of mousetrap? We have woods out past our backyard so if there are any that we could use to catch it then release it, maybe that'd be a good idea.

ugh, a mouse. been there, done that.

we don't have "cats" we have "employed feline exterminators."

I don't have any recommendations. They laugh at the traps my dad bought me.

Home depot had those too...they look like little plastic tubes and they catch the mouse in there and you take it outside and let it go...though if it got in once chances are it will come right back in unless you are taking it someplace else to let it go.

we had a mouse (I hope just one) for the first time in years a few weeks ago.... it ran right out of a vent across the room in front of me ewwwwwww... DH put out a few traps and also some poison in the vent where the dog's can't get too it.....

I have now asked him to NEVER use poison again, that's what worked, only we didn't know for sure until we (or I should say DH) had to hunt down a horrible odor this past weekend..... ewwwwwwwwww

I don't ever use poison because I have this vision of them crawling into a hole in the wall and then stinking up the place! I don't want to find a little rotting corpse anywhere!

UGH I have them right now too. I have poison out and the "sticky" traps everywhere...next time no sticky traps because they're still alive and you let them starve...I don't want to be cruel to them, just get them out of my house

ughhh, mice! We had mice under our kitchen sink cabinets a while back and we used the old school wodden mouse traps like the one in the pic up there (hee hee) and it worked. We even used cheese in it, real cheddar, not slices, the slices didn't work. We'd set the trap every night and I swear, not less than 30 minutes later we'd hear a loud snap! They're icky and I hate the idea of killing them but yuck, I have food in the kitchen and I had nightmares about mice getting in my bed and etc. yeah, I'm paranoid :) we haven't had any mice this winter, I'm hoping when summer comes, we don't have more like last year.

ACK! Well, at least the mouse isn't in your house anymore

I have to go get some of the wooden ones, at least they kill them quick! I had a friend who was laying on the couch when a mouse ran across her head...I would have a heart attack if that happened to me! Once when I was younger my mom and rother were in the kitchen and I opened the bread drawer and one jumped out and right onto the front of my shirt, I am there screaming with this thing on the front of my shirt and my mom and brother are standing up on the kitchen able....up until the day we redid the kitchen set up I opened the bread drawer standing to the side of it!

Get a cat.

Not my cat!! he was no where to be seen when i was standing n my kitchen table calling for him. He was a no show all day.

Got hubby to try and catch the thing and chased it into the garage, shut the door and set 5 count them 5 traps around the house and still didn't catch the little bugger. we hadn't seen/heard from it for days so thought it must of gone out of the garage so here we are watching tv (american idol none the less) and it runs from behind the entertainment unit and so do i onto the table.

Get hubby to call his mate as it went back behind our huge rimu entertaninment unit. mate comes round to move enteratinment unit and bring his spade to, he picks it up by its tail and take is outside to hit with the spade, i hope of table and say okay here is a toruch find it and hit it again to make sure it is dead.

I HATE MICE.
