I'm thinking about getting some Ugg (or similar) boots as the crocs aren't cutting it in this weather - even the Mammoths!

Any reviews and recommendations of where to buy from. I have only got so far to see that if I ship them from overseas then the cost is cheaper but then of course I'd be liable for import duty etc! I'm lost

Now if only I'd had the money when I looked at some in the Florida Mall 2 months ago ;)

Thanks

I'm not an Ugg boot fan, I must admit. However, we live near a CostCo and before chiristmas when we went there last, women were snapping up the tall ones there as they were around £100 - which is cheap, I believe.

I bought mine from taylorshoes.com - but this was when the exchange rate was much better earlier in the year! I paid £80 in total for short grey uggs.

I would recomend the site though the boots were sent quickly and were well packaged - you can find voucher codes for taylor shoes online too.

Mine aren't reall Uggs but they are real sheep and suede, so identical, just the label is different, which makes them half the price.

They are called JUST Sheepskin and are UK made. My tall ones were £95 from Faith. I love them!

I only have praise for my mammouths. I have walked to work all week in mine. three miles there and three miles back everyday and felt lovely and warm. I have to turn the back up and they work wonders.

Crocs have changed my life.

good luck with your ugg search.

wheres the tagfairy when you need her!!:rotfl: what a brilliant quote!!
I also love my crocs but mine are sandals (cleos) so i can't wear them yet as its far too cold.

I have a pair of EMU boots which are the origanal Uggs, slighty cheaper than Uggs but very comfy and warm. I thinm DH got mine from amazon but you can get them John Lewis! http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emu-Australia-Womens-Stinger-Boot/dp/B000VLNYQA
The sole is thicker also.

Another vote for EMUs rather than UGGs! :thumbsup2 I have always had UGGs but my last pair aggravated my Achilles tendon so badly that I was unable to walk for a couple of weeks! :sad2: So I switched to EMUs as the sole is more substantial and supportive. I got mine from QVC as I was laid up with tendonitis at the time and have nothing but praise for their comfort and styling... I have the black Stinger - love 'em... :thumbsup2

TKMaxx had some UGG boots in last week for about £70... but why would anyone want them?:confused3 ...they look ok at first sight, very 'ethnic' and comfy.. but everyone I've ever seen with them once 'worn in' seems to have 'fallen' off them and be walking on the sides! Completely unsupportive and look a mess!

JMO!:teeth:

Ha Ha i saw someone at the school like this, this afternoon. How on earth do people wear them like that they look uncomfortable and can't walk properly.

My cheapos did that very fast, but im on month 3 of my proper ones and they've not worn down at all (I wear them prety much every day!)

OK I love crocs (I'm actually not 100% sure how many pairs pf colours and various styles that I own!!) and I adore my Uggs. I've had some propper Uggs for 4 months and I have worn them every day (inc 2 DLRP trips!) and they are as good as new. My Uggs have a very supported back and they are the same shape as when I got them.

Im considering getting some Uggs too and have seen some I like on sale from Amazon but would prefer to know that they will fit before I buy them to save the hassle of returning them if they don't. Does anyone know of any actual highstreet shops that sell them so I could try some on?

Schuh, Jones, House of Fraser, Office,

Most non-cheapy shoe shops and department stores will too.

Just bought mine tonight from the Florida Mall, $129.99 for chocolate short boots.

I think the people who look like they have "fallen off them" look like that because of the way they walk, I bought some Sketchers version of Uggs last year from Premium outlets and I haven't had that problem at all, so I think it depends how you walk.

Thanks for this thread!

It helped me make my mind up....I have been toying with the idea of getting either Uggs or Emu's for a while & finally decided to get some emu's. I have ordered them today from Amazon as they seem to be the cheapest at the mo.....now I just have to wait for them to arrive! :bored:
