Hello all,

I just noticed that the numbers for our visit have just gone up. For the days we plan on going to WDW, most numbers are 5 & 6's. Are these "good" numbers? I'd like to hear some experiences from others who have toured during times with similar numbers. I'm just getting worried because I picked our dates because of low crowd levels. Now they have gone up a bit.

Thanks so much.

A couple of our days this week have been 4's. The parks have been crowded with lots of people around but, the waits have not been bad. Especially when using Fast Pass as we have been.

Toy Story Mania had waits up to 70 minutes on Monday about 1/2 hour after park opening. FP's were going by noon for the day.

Soarin had a 60 minute wait at 10:30am yesterday and our FP wasn't until 3:30 in the afternoon.

But, we walked onto Splash and BTMRR on Tuesday with no wait (5 mins) at all.

The crowds are crazy at things like fireworks and Osborne Lights. Hard to move around, etc. I am surprised since we are following TGM's suggestions. So, long story short, crowds are there but waits are good. Just use FP for things you really want to ride.

Those are, well, average. Have you read under the crowd calendar what the numbers mean? That will give you an idea. The numbers are actually made for the MK 3 'big rides' Space, Splash, and Big Thunder. They are estimates for the other parks. (and honestly for DHS and Toy Story, I bet it could be a '10' everyday at some point)

Here is a copy and paste from the site if you've missed it before, formatting will probably screw up so you'll have to go check it out there.

This info is in the public area, so no private info copied.

The Crowd Level column is based on a scale from 1 to 10, with 1 being least crowded conditions and 10 being most crowded. The scale measures the peak wait time at the Magic Kingdom's three headliner attractions (Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad). Thus, the Crowd Level is a "worst case" scenario, predicting the longest wait at any of these three attractions on a particular day. Note that predictions for parks other than the Magic Kingdom are an approximation.

Scale Magic Kingdom Epcot Disney Studios Animal Kingdom

There's been a lot of discussion recently about people who are trying to plan to go during a "slow" time, but I think the general sentiment is that the completely dead months of past years just don't exist anymore. That being said, 5-6 is completely different then being there the week of Christmas, for example. Yes, there will be lines for the headliner rides, but overall you should be okay. As long as you have a good plan, you'll have a good trip. The biggest thing for us was using fast pass for the headliner rides and avoiding counter service dining from 11:30-1. I think the food lines during peak lunch hours are almost worse than a ride!

Have fun!
Mary

Don't worry, it will be fine. We went in April during our Spring Break - crowd levels were 9's and 10's the entire 9 days we were there and we had a ball. We didn't even do parks 2 of the days.

We rode every single ride we wanted to and most of them more than once and didn't wait more than maybe 40 minutes at the very most.

We used the suggestions of which park to visit on which day, used FP's where we could and just took it all in stride.

Take advantage of the EMH and rope drops, it really does help.
