Just wondering if the UG Best Days calandar will be updated now that the dates for MNSSHP are out? It would really help my compulsive planning if it were. :earsgirl: I assume they affect the days because of closing early and the crowds.

I believe I took those into consideration, yes, along with MVMCP, Night of Joy, and all the other events.

Len -

Which do you think would be better - MNSSHP on Sunday with a crowd of 6, or on Monday (which is Halloween) with a crowd level of 4?

Do you think the increased price will put anybody off on the 31st, or will both nights probably be sold out?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated! I understand everything is pure speculation!

Ah ha! Must have some "inside" information ;) . Didn't think anyone knew the dates until last night! :scratchin Should have known better.

Both nights will most definitely be sold out, but in the past I've seen these events be "over-sold" on weekends, what with double-bookings by the resorts and other things. I'm convinced that Halloween itself falling on a Monday will be slightly less crowded than the Sunday night, even though both nights will sell out.

What will the crowds be like at the other parks on Halloween night? We are NOT doing MNSSHP and wonder if there will be many folks at any of the other parks.

Jackskellingtongirl, Bob's opinion is that the lower crowd level is always better. So if you were choosing which day to go to the MK, and one day's a 4 and the other's a 6 with a "best day" recommendation, choose the 4.

Why? The lower crowd level is always better, according to Bob. Also, remember that we occasionally recommend a park because we have to - one of the underlying assumptions in the "Best Days" calendar is that we recommend each park at least once in any seven day period. This is so a family on a weeklong vacation can be sure to visit each park on the best day possible during their week. That occasionally means that we have to choose a "least bad" day for a park, rather than a "best."

Finally, I updated the crowd blog with Expedia hotel room availabilty through May, just a few minutes ago. I'll have updated crowd predicitons, as well as a summary of how well we've been doing, on Sunday. (Short answer: not bad overall, given the complexity of the task, but not quite where we want to be yet.)

Thanks, Len!

I am kind of leaning towards Halloween for MNSSHP based on it being Monday with a lower crowd prediction for parks during the day. If both Sunday and Monday sell out (which they likely will) then it won't matter that much, but it seems like a better idea to go with the day that has a lower crowd even if it IS Halloween! :)

When I called up yesterday, the CM told me Halloween no matter what day it
falls on always sold out. Hopefully its not if you already got tickets

I think it was August before Halloween sold out last year. If I call on Tuesday and they are already sold out then I don't think I really need to go to MNSSHP!! :earseek:

Since the tickets are non-refundable I have to wait until I know for sure what dates we'll be there. If there aren't any tickets left for Halloween then we'll either try for Sunday night or just skip it.

I was wondering how the day of the week impacted Halloween ticket sales. I should have guessed it wouldn't matter - people will go no matter what night it falls on!
