UEA or Halloween?

I have been planning a trip Oct 15-23 for months. But, my DH just threw a wrench in my plans and said he wants to go Oct 28- Nov 6. I know that UEA is Oct 20 and 21. Which would be better, UEA or Halloween?

Does anyone know about closures the week after Halloween? When do they take down the decorations? What about the holiday overlays on the rides? I didn't see anything past the Pirates closure. When do they put up the Christmas decorations?

The Halloween decorations will begin to come down immediately after Halloween Time ends on 10/31. They have to get the Halloween decorations down fast because the Christmas holiday season starts on 11/14 this year.

Christmas decorations begin to go up immediately after Halloween passes, and in some cases even before Halloween Time ends. The Christmas decorations continue to go up, little by little, through November until the season start date (11/14).

Haunted Mansion Holiday will remain open from September 16 to January of next year so that will be open no matter when you go to DLR.

Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy closes after Halloween for the removal of the Halloween overlay, but it's only closed for a few days.

It's a Small World will close at some point towards the middle-to-end of October (I am thinking it will be closed by, perhaps, 10/17 or 10/24) to receive the It's a Small World Holiday overlay in preparation for the 11/14 holiday season start date.

UEA would make no difference, if it didn't happen during offseason. The only reason it sticks out is because you are comparing elevated crowds to no crowds.

In either case Fridays get busy and extra busy because of the Halloween party. Halloween day will be the busiest Monday that isn't a real holiday all Fall.

We love, love, love the week after Halloween. The hours are shorter (usually 10 am to 8 pm) but we go the whole day and ride everything we want and more with little to no wait times. The longest wait time will probably be Star Tours - it was the original version when we were there last. We do miss riding IASW, because it is down for the Christmas overly at that time. But, riding everything else with such short wait times makes up for it. Our DS 9 was able to ride Screamin when we were there in Nov. and he rode it over 15 times in 3 days. On the first day he rode it about 7 times in an hour or so - we told him no more after that - we couldn't take it!! We were using Child Swap passes and FP to make that possible.

I've never been ON Halloween, but we would love to be able to swing it this year. Halloween Day Party tickets are still available online - I checked yesterday. BUT, they are significantly more money than the other party dates.

We've also been over UEA before and it can be crowded. I personally won't go over that weekend if I can help it. Too busy for me.
