Saw this on UEA website and noticed they are doing it later in the month in the future.

Here's the dates:
2009: Thursday and Friday, October 1-2
2010: Thursday and Friday, October 14-15
2011: Thursday and Friday, October 20-21
2012: Thursday and Friday, October 18-19

2010: Thursday and Friday, October 14-15

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I remember seeing this date a while back on their site and then couldn't find it again.

I'm happy dancing on this one as last year the end of our trip was UEA, but next year our state school holidays are finished the week before and DD will be back on the other side of the world and at her desk when this is on.

Just an fyi, some of the school districts in Utah don't follow the UEA break anymore.... our fall break is Oct. 15-16 this year. I think most Thur-Sun in October are equally crowded now, with school breaks spread out in surrounding states. :-)

UEA website? What are these dates for?

UEA: Utah Education Association Conference in Anaheim. Very busy at the parks during this time.

this is the dates for the conference, not just the fall break.

The UEA Convention is in Salt Lake City, not Anaheim. It is just a long fall break for students in Utah and so families frequently head to Anaheim, for some DL fun. School districts also sometimes add the following Monday onto the weekend to make it 5 days instead of 4. Since it is only about 10+ hours to drive to DLR from No. Utah, it is a pretty easy drive and very do-able for families.

Got it. That's where my confusion is. I saw a post about the UEA was a convention actually IN Anaheim several months ago, guess they were confused too! Lol. Sorry

ETA: I found what I had seen before on MousePlanet. Many schools try to plan their fall break or 4 day weekend so they can attend the convention. It affects the crowds that particular weekend, so it is worth noting the dates if you want to go in October and want to avoid large crowds of vacationers.

We usually go to Disneyland over UEA break. Last year UEA was very crowded. This year we are going after UEA. The dates tend to jump around quite a bit. A couple of years ago it was actually over Halloween. The two school district calendars I have seen so far have shown tentative schedule for fall break as being September 30-October 1 in 2010 so a little earlier than usual and it looks like they are no longer timing the fall break to the UEA convention. These are large school districts in the Salt Lake area.

I know in our school district the Fall Break does not coincide with UEA this year. UEA is the first weekend in Oct. and our Fall Break is Oct. 15 and 16.

We went over UEA for our first family trip and I swear I have never seen so many BYU shirts/sweatshirts anywhere in my life. And I don't live very far from BYU!! :confused3 It was so crowded with people from Utah, I was totally surprised. I can't remember for sure, but I think we even saw someone there from our son's school.

I often see a lot of BYU shirts, sometimes even more BYU shirts than local colleges including UCLA when I'm at Disneyland. One time a CM even asked if I lived in Utah because of my BYU shirt. I told her that while I graduated from BYU and loved it there, California is home.
