Did anyone go to UConn or know anyone who did?
I just finished my final college list and UConn is at the top of it. This surprises a lot of people because I said I wanted to go to a small school of about 2000 and UConn is not small. It is about 14,000. So I was just wondering if anyone could give me some info about it.
LIke how much does the size really matter? How is student life? STuff like that
Thanks :)

I went to UConn. It may have a high enrollment, but it doesn't feel that way at all. It may have something to do with it being in a rural area.

I didn't go to UConn and have never been there so I don't know about that particular campus. I do however have this advice:
Find at least one club or activity to join. It helps to meet people when you're new to campus, and you will need an "outlet", a way to get away from studying once in awhile.;) If you have high school friends going to the same school don't be surprised if you all go different directions once you're there. College was a wonderful expereince for me and I'd go back in a minute! Enjoy it! :)

HI- I graduated from Uconn 2 years ago and I can't say enough great things about it! It was the best decision I made to go there, not only for the student life but also for the academics, I had the best Professors ever! There is always so much going on and you are never at a loss for something to do. When I first got there I thought the campus was gigantic and I never thought I would find my way around but after 2 weeks I was thinking I should have gone to a bigger school! I actually joined a sorority and made so many friends but it is not all about greek life there, there is so much more. Good luck in your decision and if you have any questions pm me any time!

4 of my 6 siblings graduated from UCONN-they all loved it. Like the above poster mentioned, it's in a pretty rural part of Ct. They also have great sports teams;)

One of my closest friends did. PM if you want me to put you in touch with her.

I didn't attend UCONN but many friends and relatives have. The school has an excellent reputation and has become extremely competitive for out-of-state students. In-state students even have difficulty being accepted to the Storrs campus. It's not small but I've noticed that the students tend to bond and many remain friends for life. It has a homey feel. As mentioned, you are in a rural location but CT is so small that you can easily be back in "town" and both Boston and NYC are easy to reach. Of course, you've got the best men and women's basketball around. ;)
