Ubering around the World

For those who have done it, what has your experience been? It seems I've read only really good or really bad things (but hey this is the internet so I'd expect nothing less). We're in the World for 6ish days and have reservations at a few different resorts, so we plan on doing Uber to get there. How does check in at the security gate work? Does the drive just let you do the talking then drop you off and leave?

It's nice to have this cheap and fast alternative to get around to more inconvenient places, I'm just hoping it works out well. Thanks in advance!
