Uber

Hello all,

Has anyone ever used Uber to go from an off site hotel to the parks? If you have is there any advice you would offer? Pickup locations, availability, etc.

We hate buses. We rent a car, but it doesn't make sense to drive to MK. When we wanted to go to MK, we had them drop us off at the contemporary.

Otherwise, Uber is extremely available and they have no issues taking you to the passenger drop off location in each park. MK is really the only exception. Uber is fantastic.

If you want to go to the world showcase, consider having the Uber drop you off at the Beach Club.

I will give you the same advise I have given for taxis. When going to MK, try to be dropped off at Contemporary, unless you want to take the monorail or boat to MK from TTC. This way, you can just walk to MK. For the other parks, the drop off, pick up seems to be in a good location for each of the parks.

We used Uber twice on this last trip..................yes we were on site but the experience itself was FANTASTIC. It worked great for going from hotel to hotel. Rates are the best!

We did AoA to BC..........for under $7!!! Probably about the same.

you can find this out through the app. Just make sure to change your current location to Pop Century.

What is surge pricing?

Surge pricing happens when demand is high. You pay a surcharge for your ride, which is a certain percentage based on the number of available cars in the area. In most cases, wait a few minutes, and then request your ride. Surge seems to come and go at random times.

I would rather transfer our luggage myself by taxi/Uber as we had a nightmare of a time getting over to our split stay resort early in the day this year ( long story). Can they drive right up to the main doors at POR or do we have to meet them somewhere else. Also, if we show our ressie can they drop us off right at WL lobby?

The issue would be to request Uber Black for a larger car/SUV for luggage. It is more costly. Otherwise chance the inter transfer again and use Uber X....smaller cars.

There is also UberXL and does not cost near what Uber Black does.

one suitcase each..if not too big..go ahead and try uberX first and see what vehicle pops up. you can ways cancel immediately if its too small, and then try an xl. black is only available at mco, so it wouldnt apply here.

They are able to pick you up around back near your room, you dont have to walk to the front. Also, they can drop you anywhere, security will probably ask to scan your magic bands at the WL.

Just a quick add: Be sure to text your driver that youd like to be picked up by your building, and what number that is. We assume you are at the front lobby unless told otherwise.
