Rental prices for our October trip are insanely high. Contemplating foregoing the rental car, and just relying on Uber instead.

Has anyone done a cost analysis of Uber vs a Rental Car? Wondering at what the point the average daily cost of a rental car makes Uber the better deal?

We are staying off-site, but are annual passholders, so don't pay for parking at the parks. Have plenty of time to play with numbers, but just curious if anyone case has come up with $$ figures to compare the cost?

Thanks so much!

You can get estimated fares on RideGuru.com. It will give you estimates for Uber, Lyft and taxi, including various levels of service. It's hard to estimate every trip you will take during a visit, but you can get an idea. Uber/Lyft are readily available everywhere in the WDW area.

For groceries, another option would be one of the grocery shopping/delivery services like WeGoShop, Garden Grocer, and others. One of those might work out better than Ubering both ways.

This has so many variables, I don't think anyone else's figures would be comparable to yours.

I know Uber has a fare estimator, so just work up a proposed itinerary, and then go to work with the fare estimator.

Be sure to include:
1. Airport transfers
2. Trip to grocery store
3. How many days to the parks
4. Do you plan to go out to eat at night, so trip to restaurants
5. Do you plan to spend any days and/or nights at DS

So much of this will be dependent on where you are staying and how far it is from parks, store, restaurants, etc.

October is pretty far away, there is always a chance rental prices would go down. I agree you would have to look at your specific situation to compare the two options.

since your trip is unique to you a good way would go to Uber's fare estimator web page and start putting in addresses ans finding the est. fare www.uber.com/fare-estimate/. It might mean some work but you will get a good estimate. I did this to see what a Uber from SSR to a car rental place on hotel Blvd. came out to $8. The fare estimator site is relatively easy to use, for example you can input walt disney world Magic Kingdom and you will get various option to pick from.
Also beginning July (hopefully) groupon will be coming out with new coupons that will extend to Dec 2018 again hopefully. I used them in the past and got some good savings.

Thanks so much! Did the math using rideguru and it looks like the rental car is the better deal. Fingers crossed that rental car prices go down!!!

Thanks so much everyone!!!

From our 50 plus visits the rental car rates usually get significantly cheaper closer to the trip date. Our trip this month was very high and now it is $109 for a week.
