I have searched the disboards, and haven't gotten an answer on this- Key west. We want to do two things, go to the southernmost point and get the key lime pie chocolate covered on a stick. Has anyone used and uber or cab? is it easier than the tram/trolley? cheaper? i want to spend an hour there and get back on the ship- tyia

It's easy to walk depending on where you are docked. Sometimes the boat stops close to Mallory square but If you are docked close to coast guard station there is a shuttle to Mallory square. You could wslk from there or The trolley will take u around a few stops before you get to the southern most point. Then if u get off you wait for next trolley. If you are in a hurry probably easy to tske cab from Mallory square. If you haven't been there Before Its a great walking town.

Key West is totally walk-able. Except for the requirement of having to take the shuttle from the pier that DCL docks at off the government site, you can walk it easily.

I like the hop-on, hop-off trolley because you get a little tour while on it, and you can get on and off wherever you want. Or not. We took it all the way around once before choosing our stops.

Uber is outlawed in Key West so you won't find it there.
THIS WEBSITE has the port schedule for key west. The Disney ships are Listed as B for the first part of this year. You can check the map HERE. Pier B is also known as the Westin Pier since the hotel is right there. It is literally 1 mile from that pier to the southermost point. So 2 miles round trip. 3.5 mph average walking speed, you'll be on and off the boat in an hour if you keep yourself moving and not drawn in by the shops!

If you're mobile, you should walk it. A nice stroll down Duval Street is lovely.

We had several older family members with us, so we used http://www.keywesttaxi.com to get to the Southernmost point. I think it was $12 for all six of us each way. They gave us the number, said to give them five minutes to get down there when we were ready to be picked up (we ran into a short line.) It was fun, both drivers (to and from) were very nice. You can call them at (305) 296-6666

I love their slogan: If you Drink... Think Pink!! (they use flamingo pink hybrids for taxies)

I'm sure they can direct you to key lime pie on a stick. They helped me find a camera shop to replace my cracked lens filter, and someone else to buy Key West baby bibs. LOL

Not all of them are pink or hybrid. We've called them before and wound up in a beat up old Astro van that had at least one blown strut, given the incessant rattling from the back when we were on White.

Any links for trolley information? I have a chronic condition plus were traveling with two kids, so trolley may be the best option for us to see more of Key West.

i can totally walk that, the twins, lazy hubs (lol) and 9 yo, prob not. thanks for all the info, i will be looking into all of it

They are *not* nearly identical. If you care about seeing Smathers Beach and the pretty drive along A1A (Key West's Malecon), as well as the opportunity to make a stop to see Robert the Doll at the East Martello Fort, you'll take the first one, Old Town. There's a reason they've been around as long as they have. The second trolley only focuses on Old Town without even getting near New Town. It's nowhere near complete.
