Uber pick up at Contemporary?

We are at MK today and staying at Dolphin. Can we walk from MK to Contemporary and order an Uber back to the Dolphin? I would assume it is ok to do that if you are at the hotel location? Trying to shave off some transport time on a humid day.

We've done this to get back to other resorts. It's been especially nice at the end of the day after fireworks. Not sure if it saves time, but sure nice to escape the crowded buses.

We did this after fireworks one night. It was so blissful to sit without anyone near us at all while we waited for Uber to arrive.

I'm sure we have all had different experiences, but last year this was a problem for my family. We left MK, took the Monorail to CR. It was close to 11:00pm. We could NOT get an Uber or Lyft. There were over 50 people waiting for their ride share. After about 45 minutes, we finally got one. We had more people than his vehicle sat (we had ordered 2 rides, but kept getting canceled). This driver worked for Disney (drove for ride share after work) and said there are many days when the guard shack won't let drivers into CR.

When a ride share shows up for a pick up, how would the guards know they weren’t there to pick up someone staying there?

From what was said to me: when they are being strict, the driver has to show the "order" and the guard matches the guest name. I had heard this before, but truly thought it was not feasible. After my experience in Oct 2021, I believe it can happen. Like I said, there were 50+ people there, all waiting, many of us were talking with each other about the constant canceled rides. I don't recall exactly, but I had at least 3 canceled on me.

On the contrary, I had been told Disney was cracking down on ride share drop offs at Boardwalk (for non-guests). However we did that 4x in 2020 (February and November), every time the guard was very passive and didn't ask any questions.

Another possibility to escape crowds, walk to CR then monorail one stop to TTC, Uber from there. I have not done this and someone will chime in here if Uber somehow isn't allowed at TTC, but seems to be an alternative plan....

TTC is where the official Uber/Lyft pickup/drop off is for MK.

Another option is to walk to GF on the new path and get one there.

Since lots of people clog the Resort monorail to get to the parking lot at park closing (makes me boiling mad that they aren't restricted to the Express so monorail resort guests don't have to wait in those long lines), you might have to wait for several trains before there's space for you to get on at CR. If you're going to Uber from TTC, take the express monorail or ferryboat.
