Hello!

I am arriving at LAX next Tuesday, flight lands at 1:20 pm. I haven't decided how I'm going to get to Anaheim yet - either Uber/Lyft or a Shuttle Service?

If I go with a shuttle service, I do not want to use Super Shuttle, the whole circling around the airport thing will drive me crazy.

I priced out Uber and the Karmel shuttle, and it's roughly the same price (I'm not staying at a hotel so the price for the shuttles is different.)

I was thinking Uber might be faster? Since it's hopefully a non surge time the price should be accurate.

Thoughts? Opinions? Please share your experience!

I'd do Uber or a cab. Much faster than a shuttle that has to stop at other places.

I'm gonna be keeping a close eye on this thread actually. I picked out SuperShuttle for our January trip based on price alone. $60 roundtrip seems like a steal when competing services seem to start at twice that.

Of course I'm reading horror stories about SuperShuttle, but just as many good reviews so...just gonna go for it I guess and hope for the best...unless this thread points me elsewhere.

I've decided on Uber for my upcoming trip. I was tempted by the shuttle because it was the cheaper option for me but decided it's not worth missing time in the parks. If the shuttle service and uber were priced around the same I would do Uber in a heartbeat. Door to door service, no stops, cleaner cars.

Ss is pretty bad.

Yeah, I've heard nothing but horrible things about SS. Even from my sister! Last time she went, it was a group of about 8, and the SS still circled around the airport for a really long time, I think ultimately only picked up one additional person. And then you have to wait for everyone else in the SS to get dropped off at their destinations. Not worth it to me!

I've heard good things about Karmel though. But I'm thinking Uber would still be faster.

We plan to Uber, or I might try Lyft because I have a discount code. I've used uber in WDW and it was great, but I've never used Lyft. I'm guessing the experience will be similar.

I used Karmel in January and was very happy with them, but I am considering Uber this September.

Fwiw we used both in FL and the experience was basically the same. For future FL trips I'll stick with Uber because of reliability issues with Lyft (drivers not showing up, not knowing where to go, just weird stuff like they are still getting the kinks worked out of the system). Twice I had to give up trying to get a Lyft and summon an Uber instead. All that said I would still be willing try Lyft over Uber in CA if I had a discount code as I'm not convinced the Lyft issues I encountered are systemic across the country.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm definitely quite willing to use uber if lyft isn't great. It's still cheaper than a cab even without a discount!!

I've been contemplating trying Uber for the first time on our DLR trip later this year, but I'm concerned about driver availability when we need to return to the airport (early -- way too early -- on a Sunday morning). Does anyone have any experience with hailing an Uber for 2 adults to go from GCH to SNA on early-morning weekends (6:20am or so, on a Sunday)?

In May we flew in to SNA and out of LAX. We used Uber for both trips and it was extremely convenient and fast. I'd definitely use Uber again when flying in.

Ugh, don't tell me that. SuperShuttle seems to be the best price and for every horrible thing I read about the service, I read a glowing review. This is the hardest part of planning this trip...by comparison, picking a hotel and buying our airfare was a cakewalk.

I rounded up the prices from various services yesterday and this is what I came up with.

SuperShuttle - $60.00 Round-Trip
PrimeTime Shuttle - $61.00 Round-Trip
Disneyland Resort Express - $76.00 Round-Trip
A Karmel Shuttle - $88.00 Round-Trip

They're all so close in price and similar in service that I really don't know what to go with, but SuperShuttle seems to be the biggest company so I feel like they would be the most organized.

I checked my phone at 4:30am on a Saturday, and there were indeed Uber drivers around the DLR resort area!

Size of company doesn't necessarily correlate to organization, quality, or service. Take Wal-Mart for example. I don't have first hand experience with SS, but have family that has, and read the reviews of other DISers. I personally will avoid, but would consider another shuttle service, looks like PrimeTime is only $1 difference.

I booked Super Shuttle for next week. I have had good experience with them before, but not on the LAX to Anaheim route. I liked it because it has an app and you can locate your car with it. I hope they won't orbit the airport forever. I thought they were usually all booked in advance. Super shuttle only cost $32 round trip so I liked that too.

mjallemand is right in that for every bad review there is a good one, and that seems to go for every service out there. I hope I don't have any issues.

I've ridden ss on the lax-dlr route. The first time we got in late, the driver was old and a slow driver. Didn't seem to know where he was going. Took 2 hours to get to our hotel. At like midnight. Exhausted.

On the way home we had a young driver during the day. He got us to the airport in an hour taking a variety of exits. He knew his way around. But I believe he was speeding & seemed sort of a race car driver personality. I was thankful to arrive quickly & safely to our destination.

Try prime time. Close price. I've heard good things.

They orbit the airport FOREVER.
