Uber or rent a car with kiddos?

we have 3 kids. We rented the last 2 times after flying in, but could we get buy with uber? We really only drove in the first day and went to DTD. And target to get swim suits( I forgot them )
Is it worth the cost to rent a car?

Uber X has a 4 passenger limit. Even if you happen to get picked up by a car with more seats, you have to pay the Uber XL rate for more than 4 passengers. If your kids require car seats and are planning more trips than just to and from your hotel then it would probably be easiest to install them in a rental car rather than keep reinstalling for each trip.

I'd heavily encourage the uber. We commonly do that when heading to/from the airport now as it's much more convenient than anything else not just cost but also time wise.

Having to grab the UberXL will be a little frustrating, but if you won't need the car the rest of the time it'll be cheaper overall. We've taken an uber not a ton, but at least a few times with the car seat and as long as you're proficient at installing it's not too bad.

Even if you have to head down to target, it's about a 15-20 minute walk or a super short uber ride for just yourself and I can't imagine that ride would be more than $6-$8.

Check the prices for your exact trip. We can never go by previous trips to know what car rentals will be like for the next trip. So get a notebook and work it all out.

We were going to rent a car, but then we switched to hotels that have parking fees. Now the prices aren't the same and we might well just use Karmel/taxi/Uber. Or just rent for a day if we want to run off to Trader Joe's to get snacks for the room. It all depends on the pricing.

If the kids can be in boosters, I HIGHLY recommend the Bubble Bum for traveling. It's an inflatable booster seat. The BB weighs one pound and goes in its own little cinch sak.

Our youngest will be almost 3 ( like weeks away) when we take the trip. Older kids are 7 and 10

I'm facing this decision as well. We have an almost 3 also and a 5 month old. Rental car would be $83 for the four night we are there, and Uber XL (would probably need XL with two strollers, even for only four pax), would probably be about the same or even a bit less after using the sign up coupon. I don't expect to need a car once we are at the hotel, but it would be nice to stop somewhere to grab drinks and snacks when we arrive. But it would also be nice to not worry about the car rental procedures and just hop into an Uber right away and go.

In our case, parking is free at the hotel. But otherwise this can add up as well.
