Uber/Lyft surge

Is there usually surge pricing in mornings to go from hotel to parks using Uber or Lyft? If so what times?

We haven't used the services that many times, but the only time we were hit with surge pricing was at park closing. We paid @ $7.50 for a morning ride to AK, the same ride was @ $17.00 at the height of park closing.
