Uber/lyft experiences SNA?

Well, that's interesting! Only Black and Black SUV get picked up curbside. The rest of us have to schlep to a parking structure. How far of a schlep is that?

Is this new? I've never flown into SNA but have thought about doing so.

It must be fairly new. We always fly into SNA and the last 2 trips we caught a Lyft curbside where you'd get a taxi. I'm sad that's not an option anymore. I like using Lyft/Uber but I don't really want to have to drag my daughter all over the place to find the pickup area. Hopefully it's not too out of the way.

Yup. Rideshare pickup is now in the parking garage. You have to go past the check in ticket counter and into garage. Not as convenient as curbside used to be but not too far of a hike.

It is a horrible layout. Tight area to walk through once there and you now have a constant flow of Uber drivers flying through the parking garage with regular passengers passengers trying to park and walk to terminal.

Not a deal breaker and many other airports have further ride share areas, but it is really a poor implementation.

Maybe a silly question but is it one specific parking garage? We fly Westjet so terminal A I believe. The closest parking garages are A1 and A2 according to the map. (Thanks, @FCDub ) So can we just go to the closest garage?

This is a new change, but hopefully will still not be bad. I love flying into SNA; so much closer than LAX and security is so much easier on the return flight. One tip: we had a new Uber driver earlier this year, and he was not familiar with the carpool lanes between SNA and DLR. By the time I realized he was about to miss the carpool lane exit, it was too late. Needless to say, we sat in traffic for at least an extra 20 minutes because of this oversight by the driver (he was brand new to Uber, and he was about 22 years old so maybe he didn’t know...). Now I make sure to ask the driver when we get into the car at SNA if they are familiar with and are going to use the carpool lanes.
