Uber/Lyft - do cars show when opening app?

I have not used Uber or Lyft since before the Pandemic. When you open the apps now, if there are any cars in your area, do you still see them moving around the screen?

I have tried both apps at different times, and I do not see any cars moving around. I don't know if that is because there are no cars in my area, or if the apps have changed.

(I am not in the Orlando area. I am deciding whether to use Uber or Lyft near my home.)
