I had just read the article. I'm going in May hopefully they have something going then.
No mention in the link whatsoever indicating self-driving. The hiring conditions for drivers pretty much belies it.I'm all for a large fleet self driving vehicles being used to shuffle guest between specific destinations. Sounds like this is a solid first step towards that.
Or, you know, a taxi. The industry that predates resourcing by 100 or so yearsI wonder if this will solve the issue of getting back to the hotel after the 20th Anniversary Epcot Event! It was already looking like a job for Uber.

The obvious fear being they price it higher and at the same time revoke/restrict or otherwise keep Uber/Lyft from competing.I can't get a grasp on when this will start. It almost sounds like they are just hiring, which means it will be a while. If they are already hired, training and ready to start it would be much sooner. No matter, we'd be candidates for certain. We already use Uber/Lyft about half the time. As long as it comes close in price
That's really the only option we'd use so I sure hope so.I wonder if it will also include resort-to-resort trips (without having to go to a park first)? That would be a very cool option...
Not sure how it is in Orlando lately, but usually Uber is cheaper and quicker. I don't deny the existence of taxis or anything XD

We would use it for a resort to resort service. On our last couple of trips we have used taxis to go to/from dinner or spa visit from POFQ to another resort. Plus we have used a taxi going back after grabbing lunch at GF or YC/ BW after a morning park visit.
I'm sure they've taken notice of how many Uber vehicles are ushering around Disney guests these days. Also, if they restrict access by these services, they keep more guests on property.
