Our recent uber driver explained to us that where Uber gives you the price upfront, Lyft is more like a taxi and you do not know how much it costs until you get to your destination.

For that reason, we prefer Uber so we know how much we will be paying before we get into the vehicle.

Your Über driver flat out lied to you. Lyft operates just like Über.

Just one more reason I'm so happy using Lyft.

The other thing I would suggest for you is DO NOT order Lyft Line or Uber Pool! Those are car-pooling options that may save a little money, but you may have a detour to pick someone else up -- and most important, neither you nor the driver have any idea who that person is. They could be wonderful; they could be obnoxious. Not something for a woman traveling alone.

Your Über driver flat out lied to you. Lyft operates just like Über.

Lyft just started using upfront pricing very recently in Orlando. The driver was probably telling the truth at the time.

My Lyft driver from LAX to DL last month, told me this. He said that international visitors must use Uber, as it is international and accepts their CC, lets them have an account. Lyft is US only, you need a US CC to have an account. He said this is why from airport Uber is often in Surge pricing (high demand) vs. Lyft. For me, Uber was almost $60 more than Lyft, LAX to DL. This could also have an impact (lesser but possible) at WDW.

If this driver was misinformed, I apologize, he drove for both companies.

Massive update I took lyft yesterday

Dh went with me to pay the doctor copy


But it was so user friendly I can easily do it by my self and the driver called me out by name wich surprised me

So my mind is at ease

Yes, both uber and Lyft are very easy.

One safety tip: ASK the driver their name (Don't ask,"Are you Jim?"), and their face should match the picture you have on your app.

The driver should also ASK you your name, rather than asking. Not a big deal, but better practice to avoid picking up the wrong passenger at crowded venues.

I think they operate in about 40 states. But they just recently added a large number of cities and they are probably weak-to-nonexistent in many of those. I know many of the Florida cities they added recently are covered only on paper.

Sorry my fault I was being vague because I did not want to sound like a troll there is a 5 percent chance I well be in Houston alone I was hoping to use lyft sens I would have used them several times by that point

I believe they do operate in Houston. If not, Uber does. Just FYI, Uber is providing free rides (up to $50) for anyone going to or from shelters, including volunteers.
