Trying to determine the best option for my family of four to get from port canaveral to the airport. My in-laws live in Orlando but I don't know if their Honda Civic can hold 5 people (my family plus FIL driving)

A Honda Civic can hold 5 people easily.

Agree with above. Plus an Uber would cost about $105. You can put in the addresses and get an estimate on the app.

Not with luggage for four people after a cruise. For all the luggage to fit some will have to go in the back seat. Unless they pack lighter than most people. Op didn't say what cruise they are getting off of thou. 3 or 4 night yes it could fit a 7 night nope it won't fit for average packing.

Have to tried looking into a 1 way rental car? We have done that a few time. It usually ends up being cheaper than a ride for 5 people.

Really thinking outside the box... what if your FIL (you pay) rented a vehicle for the day, drove you to port and returned the vehicle that same day? Would that be cheaper or the same price as you renting a van/SUV/full size yourself? It might be cheaper than Uber, but would he mind that hassle?

That's a matter of opinion. A Honda Civic has a pretty large trunk. Our family of four travels for a week with two medium sized suitcases and backpacks (4). Easily fits in the back of my husband's Honda FIT, which has a smaller cargo space than a civic.

Since we are only taking a 3 day cruise, our luggage will probably fit in the trunk or even on the floor of the car in front of my kids since their feet don't touch the floor. I worry that we can't fit their booster seats plus an adult all seatbelted.

Just want to add a quick note...I'm sure you have done your research so if I'm providing incorrect info please let me know. One of our über drivers told us this week the only place they are not allowed to go is the airport because they are unionized there (except Uber Black). I don't know how they would know but thought I'd pass it along

If there is no problem with the airport you may want to look at the über family/car seat options. We used this and had minivans and large SUVs with plenty of room. Our drivers installed the carseat when they picked us up so if you didn't need it you wouldn't have to have them install it.

We had a great conversation with our limo driver in November. He told us he drives for Uber when he is not doing work for the limo company. We asked him pretty much the same question and he told us it can be hard to get a Uber to drive that because they normally have to get back to where they came from, think PC. If they picked you up at the port chances are they live and drive in that area so once they drop you off at the airport either they need to fetch a fare for the way back, which they often can't do, or they lose money in the hour it takes them to get back home. Hope I explained that all right.

I think @chrisrunty and her family took Uber to get to the port for our cruise a couple of weeks ago. Perhaps she could clue folks in as to the cost. I think it was in the $65-70 range from the Gaylord, which is just west of Disney Springs, on the other side of the interstate.

A rental car is about $40. Minivan about $100.

I've found Lyft FAR nicer and slightly less than Uber in general.
