Uber COMFORT

I have mentioned this new class of Uber ride in other threads, but it's really a good deal for riders so I want to highlight it again.

Uber recently introduced Uber Comfort in many US markets, including Orlando. There is a small cost premium for Comfort, but my riders think it is well worth it. Every single business traveler I've driven in the last few weeks selected Comfort. Business travelers are the most experienced, best, riders and they know value when they see it.

So what is Uber Comfort from the rider perspective?

• First of all, Comfort an upgraded option from UberX, so a maximum of 4 passengers. If you order Comfort with more than 4 passengers, the driver may not have room, or if they do, they will fare review the ride to XL and you'll pay the XL fare.
• The vehicle offers more legroom than many UberX vehicles. You will get either an SUV or a sedan the size of a Toyota Camry or larger. No Corollas, no Priuses.
• You can specify some creature comforts -- for example, passenger compartment temperature, whether or not you want to converse, etc.
• But IMPORTANT -- the driver will have a certain experience level (250 rides minimum in my market), so no newbies trying to figure out the app or GPS
• MOST IMPORTANT -- the driver will have a high rating: 4.85 our of a possible 5 (compare to a 97% average in a school class). THIS is why our business travelers are overwhelmingly selecting Comfort.

How much extra? The Miami market is somewhat more expensively-priced than Orlando, but I checked a typical ride from my house to a big mall. It's 6.7 miles and it would cost me $13 using X, or $16 using Comfort. To me, $3 is well worth it to be assured of a good driver and a more comfortable ride.

Of course, you will be shown the exact fare difference for your ride in the app before you order your ride.

I used the UBER Comfort option to travel to and from LAX from my home in September. I had seen you mention it and decided to try it. I was very happy as we were 2 passengers with 2 good size suitcases, so I wanted to ensure we had plenty of trunk space. The cars we rode in were a Honda Accord and Toyota Camry respectively. I was very happy with using the Comfort option and will definitely continue to do so for airport runs. Locally, I may or may not use the Comfort option --- depends if I have anyone with me and where i am going.
