What stops Uber drivers from going to the resort buildings anyway once they're past the security gate? Is there a secondary check to get to the other parking areas/buildings of the resort?

I think I've read before that in CSR the individual building parking areas are each separately gated. I believe it's an automated gate that you need your MagicBand or KTTW Card or MDE app to open.

If you were using Uber to get back to your room I imagine you could just hand the driver your band or card to open the gate, but that wouldn't work for pickups.

I'm not sure. I may be remembering this for a different resort on Disney property. I do remember there was one resort where this was the case, and I thought it was CSR, but it may be a different one.
There's a gate on either side of the access road that takes you to the various lots for the villiage buildings. You can't get to a building/section parking lot without going through the gate and they are not manned. MB or keycard only to get through those gates, or if you are a Disney bus. Minnie Vans do pick you up at your building for what it's worth.
