U.S. Consulate General Belfast (Visa)

Hi

Has anyone been to the Embassy in belfast for a Visa, if so how long a jouney is it from belfast airport.
Also is there anything nearby such as a cafe,etc
As i don't want to get there too early and be stood around, i would sooner wait in the airport and have a coffee and head to the Embassy a little later.

the embassy is on the stranmillis road - the university area of belfast-so plenty of cafes close by
how long from the airport??? - that depends on what airport you are flying into.
ifyou arrive via the (george best) city airport - the it will take you about 15-20 mins in a taxi to get to the embassy as you have to travel through the city traffic.
however, if you arrive via the international airport - journey time will be much longer as the airport is about 15 miles from belfast - it could take you 40-60 minutes to get to the embassy.

Yes sorry it's Belfast City which i believe is George Best Airport.
15-20 Mins in a taxi sounds okay.

As Trev says it is only a short drive from the City Airport and you will find quite a number of nice little cafes/coffee shops round the area. Hope you enjoy your day trip to Belfast........and they give you your visa

Thanks for the replies, the visa should hopefully be fine as it's my 3rd.
I had originally booked an appointment at the London Embassy but the earliest i could have was 13 weeks wait time which would have only left me 4 weeks before my Holiday date.
So rather than cut it so fine i phoned to reschedule at Belfast and got one within 3 weeks

Plenty to do up and around that area as people have said.

There are always taxis outside the city airport... I work just behind the airport so be careful on your way in please.

thanks for the replies.

just another quickie to see if anyone has had a similar problem.
I have had 2 Visa’s previously and on both I filled out the VCU001 form using the info from the subject access forms, this gave me the dates and offences as they were many years ago.

I have just received back the new style subject access form which is the ACPO police certificate


This has come back with “No live Trace” which basically means it’s blank as the convictions are now spent (Gone) I have to still go for a Visa as I did have convictions though.

I have no idea of the dates or offence details as they were so long ago, has anyone else just had a wild guess at there dates when filling in the form , presumably they will have the exact details from my last two visa applications, and I will be able to explain this on the day,
