Hi everyone

I know that the U.S.A have been introducing the need to fill out your visa waiver form on line instead of the green form you filled in on the plane , is that now the case for eveyone and if so can someone tell me were you need to do this.

Can someone feedback on how well this new online visa application goes - we need to apply for new passport for daughter before we can do it

We arrived in the US yesterday, into Atlanta. We had completed ESTA forms online just out of interest. The I94 is now slightly different requiring passport issue and expiry date, like the ESTA.
I asked the immigration officer what happens after Jan 12 regarding the I94 and she said that there were no plans to discontinue it at present. The IT project behind ESTA is behind schedule she added.

Quite a few families have already done theirs for upcoming trips, we hope to do ours in the next month or so. It can take a while to get the authorisation through but from what I can gather it seems to be okay.
Keep a record of your application/authorisation number though for your own peace of mind.

do you have to update the ESTA information every time you travel into the US in the 2 year period its valid? Or once done with our info is that it?

If you are staying at a different place each time you go you will need to update it.
We did ours and got authorisation immediately - no delays or waiting at all.

thanks Pegagsus - our esta is done but how do we get back into it to put in the info of where we are staying this time?:confused3

a wee question - if you complete the information and get your authorisation is it valid for the full two years, or does this particular authorisation end once you have left the country and you would need to complete another esta form the next time you are going?
i have looked at the website but cannot find the info

does this make sense?

Just done our ESTA online took me about 45 mins you have to do a separate one for everybody who is travelling to the USA, All ok and got authorisation immediately - no delays or waiting at all.... Nice and Easy.......

Completed ESTA for everyone and received immediate authorisation.

That is another to do chalked of the list :thumbsup2

Im going to fill mine in today for all 6 of us travelling. But my mum was told by a friend that unless you have the passport with the chip in it you need to have a full visa? Is that true?

She has a slightly older one (machine readable but without a chip).

Hiya
Sorry to butt in on thread, i have been worrying about doing visa as we don't know where we are staying yet the company will let us know which is our villa about 2 weeks before we fly, will this be plenty of time, if not can we get authorisation without an actual address of where we are staying, does anyone know? (hope this makes sense).
Many Thanks
Ali

One more question - When we go we are doing a cruise for the first week, then 1 week at the Boardwalk and then 1 week at the Beach Club villas. Can i put multiple addresses in? :goodvibes

You can put in the address of the place you will be picking the keys up from.

It's valid for the whole two years regardless of how many times you go in and out.

You can only put one address in, which should be the address you are staying at for the first night.

so we dont update it each time we travel into the US with new address and date details??

Yes you would update it prior to each trip, which is why you should make a note of your authorisation number.
