My daughter called U-haul yesterday to reserve a truck for her move in August. She was given a very good rate. Very low. Turns out it was a mistake on their part and now they refuse to honor their quote although she has a confirmation from them via email.
Because of the low rate she arrranged to have her a/c in her car fixed which she would not have done otherwise. Unfortunately the car is already being fixed so she can't back out.
I am really angry that they are not honoring the rate they quoted.

I agree. Call corporate. You have an email stating the price they quoted. They can not suddenly change their mind. They have to deal with their mistake, not you.

i am ticked b/c they quote $29.95 a day (we had it out less then a day). It costed us $79. $10 for something... not anything WE asked for (I think it said a hitch??) and $50 for milage... He went like 30 miles (we wrote the before/after down). And that was on the paper (we assumed an est, apparently not).

Take the quote to a Ryder or Budget dealer and see if they'll beat it ... you may end up with a better rate, and a nicer truck too. (From what I've heard, UHaul's trucks are the worst of the bunch, Ryder and Budget have a younger average fleet age, and a better maintenance program.)
