Think I posted this under an older thread accidentally...

Trying to find a way to afford a WDW trip for myself and DD & DS (twins-12yr). Looking into whether free dining would be less $$ or if buying our tix under the YES program is the better choice. But before I start doing all the math... am I able to chaperone both my children in YES program @ the same time or is it an adult per child? I'm a single Mom and this would be impossible so don't want to do the research if I cannot.
Also if anyone knows from their own research and would share which works out as a better value.....that would be great! Planning 4 or 5 days, All Star Sports or Pop during school holidays in Sept, because their 13th B-day is at the end of thta month. Otherwise early 2013 at the new Art of Animation.
Thanks so much...this site is so helpful.

I just posted this response on the other thread, but I did some math even though the Disney reservation site is down (see end)....

As for the ticket vs. dining plan savings. In your situation with 3 "adults" at $45 each/night the dining plan would be worth more money than the ticket savings. But that doesn't mean that free dining would work out to be the cheapest option for you

If you do the YES tickets you will also be able to take advantage of any room-only discounts (if available) during your dates (have to pay rack rate to get free dining). Also you may find that by purchasing only what you actually want to eat/sharing/bringing your own snacks you will likely spend much less on food than what the cost of the dining plan would have been.

For our family, not doing free dining is actually going to be cheaper.

Ex. ***Disney website currently down, I'll come back to edit with the price difference.***

... I did the math and the trip we have planned for this August (family of 5, 11 nights at POR with 8 day PH tix) would cost $3771 with free dining.

With the YES tickets and a 20% off on the room we are paying $2766. I am sure we will spend much less than $1000 on food (we have spent as little at $400 on other trips) so for us we will wind up spending less than free dining.

Are you talking about the Individual Enrollment classes?

When you register you must indicate a chaperone for each class your child(ren) will be taking. It also says if the children are 12 and under you must attend the class with them. If 13 and over you must check them in and remain in the same park but you do not have to attend the class.
