Typical UberXL capacity

We’re new to Uber, but plan to use it for travel from MCO to Pop in March. Will an UberXL reliably hold a family of 5 (all adult size) plus 2 big suitcases and 5 carryon suitcases? Or should we book two regular size Ubers?

Uber XL will be a 3 row SUV or Minivan of some sort. It is said to seat 5. Luggage is the unknown factor. Your 2 large suitcases will likely fit just fine, be prepared to sit a carryon bag in your lap for the drive.

Five passengers is full capacity for XL with Covid restrictions still in place, and that includes no passengers allowed in the front seat. I think you would be much more comfortable with two regular UberX's.

You may be better off booking with a car service. It should be around the same price as two UberX cars, and they’ll be prepared to handle as much luggage as you’re going to have (most companies have you note the number of bags when you select the vehicle).

I would strongly recommend booking a car service like Mears, a chauffeur will meet you at baggage claim, help you with your bags, and have a large vehicle waiting for you that can accommodate your entire family + all of your luggage.. Stress free and you don't have to worry about availability of Uber/Lyfts, surcharges, waiting for a car, etc..
