Typical Characters to meet

Does anyone know what characters are typically out and about in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure? We just did out first ever Disney World trip and said we wanted to meet more characters on the next trip, so for our honeymoon we will be heading to those parks. I tried looking on the app, and it could be that I am checking later in the evening, but I am only seeing Spiderman at DCA, not showing any other characters at either park. I think Scarlet Witch is over there and see is one we would love to meet, but not sure who is all over there. This will be our 1st Disneyland/Disney California Adventure trip. Thank you!

I've seen so many characters over the years. On Main Street: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald and Daisy. I see them alot in the morning but at other times, too.

In Fantasyland I've seen Peter Pan, Hook, Alice, and the Mad Hatter, Malificent and Aurora, Fairy Godmother

Once I saw the villian from The Princess and The Frog, but I forget his name.

At DCA— Loki, Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Dr. Strange. Black Widow.

Toontown- Pluto, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie

Chewbacca and R2 D2 at Galaxy's Edge.

Disneyland Hotel- Minnie, Daisy, Pluto

Storm troopers, Kylo Ren in Tomorrowland

I'm sure there are more I'm not thinking of. I sometimes check the app, like when we were trying to meet Aurora, but usually I just see characters randomly throughout the day.

We were just in the parks 12/27-12/30. Aside from the character cavalcades that are sort-of mini-parades and the posted character things (like Spiderman stunt show and Dr. Strange's thing in the Ancient Sanctum), I'll list who I can remember actually meeting or interacting with guests. There were probably some Disney Jr characters that I didn't notice. Also, we were not seeking them out, so we didn't go to Pixie Hollow, princess m&gs, character meals, etc.

CA:
Goofy (a handful of times in his Hollywood blue/green suit outfit, on Buena Vista)
Minnie (on Buena Vista)
Judy and Nick together (near the water wheel)
Russell from Up (near the water wheel)
Loki and Thor together (next to the Avengers headquarters)
Black Widow (next to the Avengers headquarters)
Captain America (near the entrance to the Avenger's campus)
Spiderman (in the area below where he does the stunt show)
Miguel (can't for the life of me remember where)

DL:
Jack Sparrow (wandering around NOS, soooo funny, they cast him really well there)
Chip and Dale (Frontierland somewhere, can't remember quite where)
Stormtroopers (GE, wandering)

Hmmm. DL seems sad compared to CA! I will say, it was so packed there, plus it would be harder to find corners to put characters. I remember meeting characters with lines near the water in NOS/Frontierland years ago during a quieter time of year, for example, and that would be a horrible traffic block during the winter holidays.

The Royal Theatre/Royal Hall area often has princess appearances; we saw Belle and Gaston while we were getting snacks at Maurice's.

The raised stage area near Edelweiss sometimes has characters show up also -- Geppetto and Pinocchio, or Mary Poppins and Bert, for example.

I've seen pictures of folks meeting Boba Fett, Fennec Shand, and the Mandalorian in Galaxy's Edge.

There are a lot of different Marvel heroes and villains that are wandering through Avengers Campus for most of the day. I think they still also do the Dance-off show with the Guardians of the Galaxy characters in front of the Guardians ride at various times.

To add to what was already mentioned above:
California Adventure
In Pixar Pier area you can also meet Woody, Jesse, Mike Wozowski, Sadness, Joy, many of the Incredibles and I am sure there are more.
I think you can also meet Raya at the challenge trails. You used to see brother bear characters, but I don't think they have been out for a while.
Lightning McQueen and Mater at Carsland
Anna and Elsa usually in the area where Animation Academy is located (inside)
On Buena Vista street you will usually see the fab five along with Oswald (near the entrance) and sometimes some others like Clarabelle, Chipmunks, and Max Goof.

Disneyland:
At the entrance as you walk in, there are often characters, usually a princess.
At main street area its the fab five and chipmunks usually and sometimes some other characters might show up.
New Orleans Square and Critter Country - Tiana and Dr. Facilier in New Orleans and sometimes Jack Sparrow in Critter Country you get Pooh, Tigger and Eyore.
Black Spire (Star Wars) - R2D2, Rey, Chewbacca, Baby Yoda (Grogu), Kylo Ren, Storm Troopers
At the Royal Hall there are princesses. They rotate in and out so you never know who is there.
By Big Thunder and the Rancho Del Zocalo you will sometimes see Miguel but he may be seasonal
Walking around the center area and the castle area sometimes you will Mary Poppins and Bert, Alice and the Mad Hatter, and other characters.
In Toon Town - Fab five - but this is undergoing renovations so by the time you go it may change a bit. I would still expect to see the fab five.
Check out the Tomorrowland Theater they will sometimes have a variety of characters there unannounced.
Walkway from teacups to Small World you will sometimes find various characters. Often I see Merida here.

My daughter is a CM and I will ask her if there are any others that I am missing.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - Scarlet Witch is no longer a Campus regular. She's now special events only, last seen at Oogie Boogie Bash.

Campus has Loki, Thor, Spiderman, Cap (both Steve Rogers and Sam Wilson), New Black Panther, General Okoye and the Dora Milaje, Wasp, Ant Man, Shang Chi, Iron Man (he will be in the meet area near the "A", not roaming), Black Widow and Captain Marvel. Star Lord and Gamora will do the Dance Off at the ride sign. Doctor Strange is usually out and about in the mornings, he's doing shows in the Sanctum in the afternoons. Sometimes Groot is out, at the Dance Off area.

Shang Chi may be seasonal - I saw him a couple of times from Halloween to mid November, but friends were surprised I met him that regularly.

I was lucky and met the Eternals in May, so they are not completely gone. Ms. Marvel, Scarlet Witch, Hulk, Moon Knight/Mr. Knight, Mighty Thor, America Chavez, Wolfie and Elsa Bloodstone all have left currently. Agatha Harkness was a Oogie Boogie Bash character.

Galaxy's Edge: I can confirm Boba Fett and Fennec Shand are roaming, but are sometimes hard to stop. Also Vi Moradi will show up on occasion. All other characters out have been named.

Small World Promenade - the area near Edelweiss Snacks as mentioned above - had brought up a ton of characters in November. Aladdin, Bert, Genie, Alice, Mad Hatter, White Rabbit, Genie, Pinnochio, Miguel, Merida, Moana.... it was a lot.

Gaston often hangs out at Fantasy Faire, near the small bridge leading in.

New Orleans Square also has Redd the Pirate meeting. She's a lot of fun.

Russell from Up unfortunately is seasonal too, that meet will likely be gone once the Festival of Holidays ends.
