Which one would you suggest? We have a non-thrill ride type 5 yr. old and a daredevil 8 yr. old.

TIA

Typhoon lagoon has a better kids area but blizzard beach has way better thrill rides and a pretty good kids area.

There has been a lot of talk on the boards lately about what water park to go to. I am in this same situation. I have been to Typhoon but wanted to try Blizzard Beach on our next vacation. I showed our boys the Disney planning CD and they really wanted to go to Typhoon (ages 11 & 8). So, it looks like BB will have to wait. I know that BB has a kids area and a preteens area, and this is what appealed to me about this park; however, the boys looked at Typhoon and thought it looked "neater". They both like boats. Either one is geared towards kids of all ages.

I'd say Typhoon, there's a lot more shade there so the kids will probably be more comfortable. Plus the lazy river there can't be beat and is great for all ages, not to mention the sharks.

Another vote for TL. Love the wave pool. Love the lazy river (BB's is good too!) and your daredevil can swim with sharks! :thumbsup2

Sorry, I totally disagree. I vote BB. So geared for the kids.

That age will love the Ski Patrol Area. Geared exactly for that age. Your 5 year old will love being able to do lots of fun, non-dare devil activity. The only kid area at TL is for the preschool and younger set. The family raft ride is awesome at BB. There are plenty of slides they can go on. My niece is 8 and she even rode down the second biggest slide. They LOVED it there. Still has a lazy river (equal at both) and the wave pool does not have killer waves so they won't need support to enjoy it.

Definitely agree with you. My children turned 6 & 7 during our last trip and they both hands down preferred BB. Also, while the shark swim is interesting at TL, the water could be very cold for the kids. It is also a very quick swim to one end of the shark tank to the other. It is not "go at your own pace".

BB also has a lazy river and their family raft ride is the best.

I VOTE FOR BOTH!!!

We think the water parks are awesome and love both of them. My kids have asked next year that we only go to 1 theme park and spend the other 6 days at the waterparks. It seems like when we go to theme parks we have fun, but everyone gets hot, tired and cranky. When we go to the waterparks we feel much more refreshed, cooler and rested up by the end of the day.

:cool1:

We also loved both parks. If pressed to pick a fav, my kids who are 5, 9, and 10 will say BB, but they really love both. We also find our time in the water parks to be relaxing and refreshing. We love the theme parks, but we love the water parks just as much!
