Typhoon lagoon

I like the area that was once the Shark Reef attraction. Even on a busy day the area is quiet which I enjoyed. There are some chairs with umbrellas but not that many. There is also a bar over there that never had a line the entire time I was at the park. I plan on sitting over there when I visit next month.

And if you are staying at a WDW Resort and are a little damp when leaving, you can take towels with you back to your Resort.

We were just at Typhoon Lagoon in the last week and they provided towels for free to everyone.

We arrived at park opening and made it our first priority to find something in the shade. Claiming chairs is everyone's clear first priority. We were able to find one in a semi-shaded area for our family of four---which was fine for us. We went into the park with the strategy of not bringing anything valuable or wearing anything of value on us the entire time. Husband and I wore our cell phones on our necks in water proof lanyard pouches, I put a credit card in mine with my phone.

Keep in mind that some shaded areas are shaded in the morning and then aren't so much in the afternoon and vice versus. I would also recommend to pack your patience this year for the water parks---it was the busiest we've ever seen. Seems like alot of people are taking advantage of the free water park day on check-in day at Disney Resorts. Every water slide was at least 30 minutes if not longer after the first 60 minutes.
Glade they let you on rides with a water proof pouch. I have an insulin pump that should be waterproof but I do not want to take a chance on it getting ruined. How was the lines for skids the first hour to hour and a half.

I started to post this last night too after I remember reading that article but, do we know if it’s actually true?

I’m only asking as I went to the Disney website to support my point and both the TL and BB pages clearly state free towels are only for resort guests. Now I’m confused!

Are there any guests reading this who have visited either WP recently who have borrowed towels? Did you need to provide proof of staying at a Disney resort or, were they available to everyone? I’m hoping they’re available to all but the website has me confused.

Thanks!
Yes, we went to both last month and both had towels out for the taking. They definitely offer to all.

I was at TL on 7/2 and they were just handing towels out no questions asked outside of Singapore Sal's. Only thing they asked me was how many I wanted.
