Hi

Been looking in to what I can actually do at Typhoon Lagoon as I am guessing the water slides crush and gush are out of the question when you have a bun in the oven.

I have always been very scared of fish and the thought of snorkeling but I think I am going to be brave and give it a go. Has any one done the snorkeling or the 30 minute surface air snorkeling (where you do have to pay for a tank)

I am guessing the wave pool is out the question as well its quiet rough in there

any information you have on it would be much appreciated

I would be quite happy to float around the lazy river, and paddle in the wave pool when the waves are off as yes it can get quite rough in there.

My friend came with us this year and she is not a fan of slides etc at all and she enjoyed soaking up the sun and reading her book while the rest of us went on the slides and stuff

I agree with T16GEM.............We find, floating around on the tubes is the most relaxing part of a Disney holiday (apart from Discovery Cove)
It is a great way to re-charge the batteries after a few busy days in the parks :goodvibes

the lazy river I love it in there and will defiantly be spending plenty of time in there.

I get very bored sitting still (Yes I am a nightmare to fly with lol) I am normally on the slides all the time. I am just worried that I will lie in the for a while and then think right I have had enough and not really make the most to what is on offer to me

I think I will go to the viewing area of the diving then Ill see if I can build up the courage I just read on a youtube video that the goggles arent good and the water still gets in :S

Me and my DBF did Typhoon Lagoon the other day and spent the whole day on the lazy river and wave pool. We did the snorkeling once and that was it.... its was one of our best days so far! We are off to Blizzard Beach today so it may turn out to be the same!

thanks do you get there early or have more of a lazy start to the day when you go to the water park

We got there about 11am and stayed until 5 when it closed. We are getting to BB for opening today though at 10am.

Imo the wave pool works a little bit against instinct. It's actually rougher if you stay shallow as it can then knock you off your feet and then you can get a graze on the non-slip pool bottom. It's also a much busier area which means there's more chance of a collision people wise.

However, if you're a confident swimmer and can head out the back the wave pool is actually pretty gentle in comparison as really you just get swept a bit upwards and forwards but it's more of a 'swoosh' rather than getting thrown about quite roughly as you would in the shallows.

Edit: just remember that when a wave is coming to start swimming in the same direction! That way you just get swept along and not fighting against the water.

I wouldn't advise the wave pool as the OP is pregnant.

Snorkeling is with face mask and tube - no air tanks. It is great fun and simple enough to float along, there's a viewing window you could check out before taking the plunge. Diving with airtanks is an option, but I believe it has to be pre-booked - not sure if able to do if pregnant as I was advised against it a good few years back in the Caribbean whilst planning to start a family, something to do with presuurised air.

Lazy River is great way to cool down and take in view of park without walking on the hot floors!

I've been to Typhoon lagoon whilst pregnant and found there was quite alot for me to do...relaxing in the lazy river was lovely
I found Disney were great at displaying what is not safe for preagnant ladies.

I'm sure I did the wave pool and the family raft rides, but I think it would be up to you and how you feel about it. If you want to be sure before you go, I would contact disney and ask what they would advise you to avoid.

You should definitely not scuba dive when pregnant. The pressure changes as you descend and ascend are dangerous to the baby. Snorkelling on the surface or using surface supplied air where you can't dive down should be fine, though I would just stick to the basic mask and snorkel.

The TL snorkelling is fine, though the water is kept fairly cold.
